OMG..... Best home cooked southern food, best meal of our whole trip, shrimp n grits AMAZING!!!! Such a cute historic home close to the river if your passing thru make sure you stop on in, the hostess was such a sweet woman every time she passed she asked my husband by name if everything was good, so hospitable!

“Delicious fried chicken!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I took our two kids here for dinner and loved it. We were very impressed with the food and service. The fried pickles and fried chicken were great! They also have live music on weekend nights. I worried we would be underdressed in t-shirts, but it was very casual and family friendly. Great find!

“Never disappoints!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014

Walnut Hills is a MUST when visiting Vicksburg. As a life-long resident, I can assure you that the service and food are both top notch! This is a great spot for lunch...daily blue plate lunches are amazing, as well as dinner. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu...but I will tell you that the fried chicken is delicious, as are all the sides, if you are looking for a truly southern meal...and the chicken salad is the best I've ever had!

“Hoping for more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014

We went for Sunday brunch and it was the speediest brunch I've ever had - sit down, drinks, order, food, gone. Not very relaxing at all. Food was good, but that afternoon I had terrible stomach problems. That was the only place we'd eaten that day, so I'm assuming it was something I ate there. It's a unique place (we had heard about the family-style round tables, but were disappointed that there were so few of them and weren't even offered that as an option), but obviously they try to get as many people in and out as quickly as possible.

Heather, thank you for your feedback. We are very sensitive to our customers’ time, so we try to deliver good food as quickly as possible. However, we certainly do not want you to feel rushed. On Sundays, there is usually a big rush after church, but we want you to take as long as you like to enjoy your meal.

“Beautiful old house serving soulfood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014

This beautiful old house (around 100 years old) is today a restaurant where soul food is served (i.e. fried and fatty food). We had lunch here and the food was good, yet not excellent. We had their lunch special which was fried chicken with some sides. Sitting in this historic surrounding makes it well worth a visit.
