This is a must see, a very well designed museum and the exhibits are very interesting. Being able to walk around the former river workboat is great. The whole experience was fantastic.

Free museum that details development along the lower Mississippi, and the role the C of Engineers has played . It includes a large workboat that you can tour as part of the Museum.

We saw the reviews and decided to see for ourselves the museum. The short video gives an overview of the Mississippi River and how it has changed over time, along with the great flood of 1927. There are many little hands on exhibits that children would love and adults too. Be sure to travel next door to the Mississippi IV. It is interesting to walk on the boat.

The museum and boat are free and worth the time

To echo another reviewer, this small interactive museum is engaging, educational, and fun.

It really is a 21st century museum and it's free. We easily spent about 3 hours there, but you could spend a day.

From a short film giving background about the Mississippi river, then lots of wonderful (a lot of them interactive) displays, including a timeline of the township, and the 1927 flood through the eyes of each member of a single family (which I found particularly interesting), a fish tank eco-system of the river and of course the tug boat.

We were road tripping for 2 months and found this to be one of the best museums around, and not only in the Delta.
