We bought in on the brochure at the hotel and were disappointed. Atmosphere was not what the brochure promised and the food was only so so for the Vicksburg area. Definitely not a place we would put on the lets go back list.

This is really a dive bar, NOT a restaurant. We went for dinner on July 4, 2013, after calling ahead. (many local restaurants are closed for the 4th of July) I was told on the phone that they were open and had "all sorts of things for dinner".
We arrived and were told the only food available was barbeque chicken. Fair enough, but this poor chicken died of malnutrition!! Maybe three bites of what may have been breast meat...not really sure. $12.00 for malnourished chicken which was overcooked and tough.
Save your money and go to Walnut Hills or Goldies.

Not much selection of food and drinks. We sat out by the river and caught the nice view, but all of us in that room agreed that it was only fair. Too bad, because it's a great building and a fine location.

My husband and I stopped by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We sat outside so that we wouldn't have to eat in the rather dark and gloomy bar. The most annoying thing was two female patrons talking rather loudly about their sex lives over bloody Marys. We had iced tea. My husband ordered catfish and was surprised to see four huge filets that in his words were delicious. I ordered the shrimp po boy. Too much bread so I ate the shrimp which were delicious. The waitress was very kind and the service was more than adequate. We must have hit it just right because if we had read these reviews beforehand we might have turned back!

Loved the food, loved the staff, met very nice locals who were generally very nice, warm, and glad to meet you. All their food items are of local origin so take advantage of it and ask to be seated upstairs overlooking the Mississippi. The place is part of an old wharehouse distict that has stood for over a 150 years, out stood the civil war, out stood the floods. Enjoy it for what it is worth and for the food they have to offer.

Caution: It is geared toward the night life after 5PM. So come for lunch, early dinner with the family. After that if you want to stay and drink, find a baby sitter for the kids because this is not the place for them after dark.

This is southern charm...but if you are a yankee, feelings still run deep even over 150 years; later. Remember the yankees starved them to death and destroyed their city so be respectful even if the cause was wrong. The locals have roots that go back even further than the civil war and are very proud of their history. Don't be a rude yankee...
