“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

I recently stayed at the McNuttHouse for a long weekend while I was on a motorcycle trip. I stayed in the Governor's Suite. It was spacious and clean and very reasonably priced. I liked the location right on the edge of the Historic District of Vicksburg. It's also an easy drive to the National Battlefield Park. The gardens were beautiful and there were plenty of places to sit outside on the deck and have a beer. Since I was there to visit the battlefield it was a bonus staying in a house that I knew was there duing the battle.

Also, the owners were very accommodating when my wife arranged to have the refridgerator stocked with some of my favorite items.

I would definately stay there again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed this weekend and I must say it was great. Mrs. Pam and Mr. Elvin are truly great people. Mr. Elvin gave a great tour and was very rich in knowledge. Thank You for a very fun and pleasing weekend.

Thank You

If you are looking for a period house with lots of antiques and character, try one of the other more expensive B&B's in town. What you get from the McNutt house is a reasonable price in a location close to the downtown area. While it's not in the best area of town, we had zero issues during our stay. Our room had a kitchenette that was well stocked. It was just big enough to cook a full dinner meal.

We had to change our reservation to a night earlier than planned, but the owner was helpful and it was no problem at all. He was also very knowledgeable about the house and the area. The house is gorgeous and full of beautiful furniture too. It was really inexpensive and also in a great location.

The hospitality we received was par excellence, our room was clean, comfortable and cozy. The location was serene and peaceful with a country type setting, yet conveniently located to all the area attractions. Thank you so much for making our vacation a true joy.

The McNutt House was the perfect lodging choice for my visit to Vicksburg. The location is a short distance from the Mississippi river, and the casinos. The neighborhood is nice and there is ample parking space available. The architecture is interesting and the rooms are very comfortable. The multi-level courtyard is appealing, with nice landscaping and seating areas My family enjoyed using the bar-be-cue and gazebo area. All of the amenities made my stay convenient and pleasant. The suites were thoughtfully designed for comfort and functionality. I gladly recommend the McNutt House whether your visit is for business or a vacation that includes some of Vicksburg’s Civil War history.
