Seriously, hotels have gone too far...way too far! The definition of resort: “a place designed to provide recreation, entertainment, and accommodation especially to vacationers.” The Doubletree is a hotel, not a resort since they don’t offer recreation, entertainment and only accommodation! This hotel barely offers a pool, has a workout space not any bigger than my room, one very casual/basic food space, and literally nothing else. Therefore, charging a “resort fee” is completely ludicrous and nothing short of screwing over their guests for an extra buck...well, $21 to be exact. There is NOTHING that I get from the resort fee that I don’t get by being a very loyal Hilton guest. There was a time I liked this hotel and have stayed here numerous times, but have no intention of ever returning while they are charging this fee. I’ve been a Diamond member for 15+ years and this just annoys me completely.
