“Comfortable stay in Honolulu”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

We stayed here using our Hilton Honors points. So it was a great deal, but a splurge of our points...40,000 per night. Staff was very pleasant. Hotel was very nice. I wish the wi fi in rooms was free. We didn't use it because of the extra charge. AC was also set so we couldn't turn it lower that preset temp. I would have liked it a little cooler since we were there during very hot humid time. Rooms nicely were remodeled and I loved the walk in shower with glass door!

Good location to the bus stops. There were plenty of places nearby to eat. We used the Subway around the corner a few times. Also ABC and 711 stores seemed to be around every corner.

Clean room, comfy bed, refurbished bathroom with great shower head. Nice location, walking distance to bus stop, trolley and Waikiki beach / Waikiki Shopping area. Friendly staffs. Love the Double Tree warm cookies, I wish they gave us more than 1 cookie.

Traveling to HNL for business and was initially disappointed at the cost cutting measure of choosing a hotel off the beach front, but this hotel is great! I could not have had a better stay! The staff was very attentive, Malissa especially! She made sure leis were refrigerated for my son's arrival, and since I was working, greeted him and his wife with the traditional "Aloha!" and personally gave them their leis! As this was a working trip for me, I spent a great deal of time in my room and it was very comfortable, clean, and had a great bed. The restaurant has great food and prices are about the same as other restaurants in the area. It truly is a very short walk to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and there are several good restaurants and shops along the way. This would definitely be my choice for future travel. And what a surprise on the night before my departure to have delivered to my door a tin of those wonderful chocolate cookies and a hand written note from Melissa! Great job! I'll be back here my next trip to HNL and will be recommending this to my co-workers! It's great to stay very close to all the activity, but not be right in the middle of it...a little more relaxing!

Room Tip: Partial ocean view was nice to wake up to!

We stayed 1night pre cruise and the hotel was ok. All of the windows in the hallways were open so it made each floor very warm and humid. Not a great feeling about security either. The room felt musty and it was disappointing as we really liked our stay at the Doubletree in Orlando by the airport. We hoped for better but it was fine for one night. The location was good and not far to the cruise terminal and Waikiki beach. There is an IHOP nearby and a few ABC stores for reasonably priced snacks etc. the staff was fine at the hotel, nothing outstanding. I asked for help from the concierge one morning and he was remotely interested in offering some directions.

We got to the hotel a bit later in the evening and went to the bar for a drink and to order something light to eat. We were the only people there and service for food was really slow. The bartender was quick with our drinks and friendly to talk with but the food was terrible. We had onion rings that could be wrung out from the grease. They must have been cooked hours ago and sitting in a warming tray. For the only people in the restaurant the food was lukewarm. We had buffalo wings which were poor quality. We watched the guy setting up for the buffet breakfast and he wasn't wearing gloves when handling the glasses and bowls. His hands were all inside the dishes and he was behind the bar touching the cash register. That turned us off from having breakfast there.

For the price it was an acceptable hotel but we will not stay at this property on our next visit to Honolulu.

Excellent hotel. I am a regular for business and for pleasure and have never, ever, been disappointed. Rooms are clean, service is great, Danny at the front desk is outstanding, valet is extremely helpful and location is awesome. We love the breakfast buffet and eat there on every stay. We are customers for life.

Our family of two adults and four children under 11 all fit comfortably in a family room. The bar fridge was more of a half size so we weren't able to keep all 6 water bottles in there at once, no big issue though. The hotel itself was lovely, clean, and modern. Staff were friendly and the room service food and in dining food was very good. We all over indulged in the delicious complimentary cookies. You can ask for them at any time for a cookie. Location was good very close to AlMoana shopping centre, but next time would stay closer to the main are of Waikiki, however you can walk to the main area in about 20 mins. The Beach is much nicer at Central Waikiki, I am not a beach person but this was gorg, I could have stayed all day. However there are 'trolleys' which are like an open shuttle bus that takes you all area of Waikiki, charges are $2 e from memory. Bed was super comfy, pillows were not firm enough for our liking-again no big deal. We chose this hotel as we wanted too al be together and could not find any hotels that would guarantee interconnecting rooms, this one offered one large room (which had a door to divide) which fit us all. I had read reviews about complaints being put next to elevator and ice machine, our room was next to these but didn't bother us. Would definitely recommend this hotel esp to a larger family wanting to stay together and to people not wanting to be in the central busier area of Waikiki.

The rooms were okay. It got pretty warm in the room even if we have the ac at the lowest temp we could possible put it. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The playpen loaner was not good. My daughter had a hard time sleeping on it.
