My 3 friends stayed here for a week starting 15th Sept.. Firstly, we had no wait at all when we checked in. Cheryl at the front desk was fantastic, very friendly, professional and accommodating. As we left to have our baggage stored, I did notice that the check in line had built up. We check in mid morning, so not sure if it's busier during normal check in times.
The hotel lobby is busy, but given it's size and location, it's to be expected. You are staying in one of the biggest hotels in Waikiki, remember that. The staff were always very attentive and friendly.
We hired a car from Avis, which is located at the back of the lobby. Shout out to Dennis who was awesome!! For anyone who has the time, driving around the island is a must. Make a stop at Giovanni's shrimp truck on the north shore - the best shrimp/prawns ever!!
The resort fee was worth it. As it's a compulsory fee, I don't know why they just don't include it in the cost of the accommodation. We got to call family back in Australia everyday, without having to worry about the cost. Spending the afternoon in the infinity pool as the sun sets was amazing. We loved meeting new people, drinking cocktails and watching the turtles swim past.
Mahalo to everyone at the Sheraton Waikiki for a fantastic week.

Not 5 star they forgot the little things like bathroom accessories, bed lamps and cold water placed in the fridge with some milk for a nice cup of tea. The location is awesome and made up for the rooms.

This hotel is located right in the middle of the action on Waikiki Beach. At first we were worried that we would feel too much in the middle of a huge city, which in fact we were, however we found that there was an excitment and a certain vibe associated with being in such a prime location and we ended up loving the entire experience!

This is a very busy hotel in a very busy location, however it does put you right in the thick of things and there are plenty of choices for shopping and restaurants. In fact the hotel itself has many stores located within its open-air lobby. A resort fee is charged which covers internet, parking, pool toys, etc. however keep in mind that almost every type of accomodation in Honolulu does the same.

Our room #2708 was on the 27th floor and faced the ocean. It came complete with a mini fridge and a small coffee maker which came in very handy, it had plenty of storage and an in-room safe. The lanai offered a spectacular view of the ocean and the world famous Waikiki Beach below.

Waikiki beach itself is very easily walked and there is a beautiful beach park with picnic table and restrooms approx. 10-15 minute walk east from the hotel and on Saturday night there was a fireworks show on the beach approx. 10-15 minute walk west of the Sheraton.

At the time of our stay, the hotel was offering a special promotion which included an invitation to the SPG Club Floor (30th) for "pupu's" (appetizers) one evening. Their pupu's turned out to be practically a full dinner. They served unlimited wine and beer, a vegetarian stir-fry, island fish in cream sause, bread, crackers, coffee, juices and a Tiramisu dessert. Yum!!! And the views from the 30th floor were spectacular!

Normally these Club Floor perks are an upgrade to the price of a standard room. However knowing what we do now, about how well you are treated and what you get for those extra $'s, we would definitely consider the cost of this particular upgrade to be money well spent.

Keep in mind that driving in Honolulu can be very busy even at the best of times, so we chose to use the Starwood Shuttle for our airport transfer to and from the hotel. There is a $24 pp charge for this service however we found it to be a great way to avoid driving in the hustle and bustle of this very large city.

We would definitely consider staying at this hotel again in future!

Room Tip: Upgrade to the SPG Club members floor and enjoy their "pupu's" and the spectacular vie...

Whenever in Hawaii we always stay here. It has the best location, so close to everything. The staff are kind and very friendly. So good with our children. Housekeeping made a huge effort to work out nap times and were more than happy to come back. Pools are great and the infinity pool is superb. Resort fee is a great idea as we called Australia most days and spoke to family.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Room Tip: Mountain view rooms are always a little larger than ocean view.

This hotel offers an OK experience. We booked several months in advance for a business convention with this hotel as the host and requested a room with an ocean view. Check in was hectic and our room had no ocean view. Our balcony looked out on depressing high rises. We called the front desk and they moved us. The new room had an "ocean view" only when you went out on the balcony and craned your neck over the railing. We then requested "ocean front", and were told that all of those rooms were booked. The lobby in the hotel felt like Las Vegas with bright lights, constant music, crowds of people rushing the elevators, and tacky shops. The ladies at the make-up store were obnoxious hawkers, standing in their doorway, harassing us to come in every time we walked by. This was not a relaxing place! We did not use either pool area because it was too crowded. Forget the beach because they don't have any sand. There were long lines to get coffee in the morning. The room itself was clean and housekeeping was very kind. The bathroom was small with a shower/tub combo. The bed was comfortable. We had meals at the nearby Royal Hawaiian (historic and lovely), and the Halekulani (modern and chic). Next time those hotels would likely be a better choice.

Room Tip: "Ocean view" does not mean that you can see the ocean when you are in your room. You must...

The pool is amazing, so beautiful. I haven’t seen like this hotel pool before. It located next to the ocean, so you feel like swimming in the ocean. When you are swimming, often you can see turtles in the ocean by the pool. Location also good, you can go anywhere in Waikiki by walk. I highly recommend staying Sheraton Waikiki hotel.

Very expensive for what you get. Old dingy rooms, a very smelly take away store that stinks out the whole foyer. No Hawaiian feel to this place whatsoever. A disappointment as we were there on our honeymoon. A resort fee of $30 a day ( even had to pay for the day we checked in, even though we got there at 11pm at night) even though you have to pay extra for lounge chairs. Very average!!!!!'
