“In the heart of Waikiki”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

We recently stayed at this hotel for three weeks and I would highly recommend it to everyone. The hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful, there is always entertainment happening in the lobby and pool area throughout the day and evening and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The amenities, such as the pool and fitness center were great and there was a huge variety of food available at the buffet and pool bar. The location of the hotle could not have been better, it was across the street from Waikiki beach and a short stroll to restaurants, shopping, the trolley/bus stops and nightly entertainment.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are great!

I've stayed here before (prefer the Sheraton Waikiki on the beach) it's a great location right across the street from the ocean! You don't stay here for the swimming pool you stay here because it's a good price for the location. It's an old property, that being said, I heard from a reliable source it's being torn down next year 2014 for a major renovation. Our room this time was a Diamond Head ocean view, spectacular. ABC store across the street has everything you forgot, or fresh pineapple and yogurt for a nice healthy breakfast! Sheraton always takes good care of you, super comfy beds and pillows, great staff! The only downside, but this is just normal because Waikiki is big city afterall, if you are a light sleeper, you will not be able to leave your lanai door open without sirens and trucks and busses beeping like crazy.

This hotel is impressive at the foyer however when you get to the room it is very much a 60,s style motel room there is nothing wrong with that but it could do with some updating. Our romm had a blocked WC which went over the floor but was cleaned up and we had paid for a high ocean view. You could only see the ocean between the hotels in front. As we spent most of the time out of the room we did not feel so bad.It is in an excellent location. The only other issue is the $24 a day surcharge for internet fruit and water. This is great if you use it a lot and if you spend all your time om Waikiki beach. If you do not it is a serious waste of money.Do not forget to collect your beach chairs as it will cost you $50 per day for a bedx2 and parasol on WaIkiki beach.Staff were really helpful.

Room Tip: Ocean View did not mean a view of the ocean you could save a lot of money by not having it.

Aloha AlexNeathSouthwales and thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We regret to learn that aspects of your stay with us did not meet your expectations. We apologize for the challenge with the WC and thank you for your patience while our associates resolved the issue. We also apologize that our resort fee was not properly communicated to you, as it includes more amenities than fruit, water and internet. The resort fee also includes two welcome drinks (alcohol or non-alcohol), daily parking, 1-hour of international long-distance calling per day, Big Kahuna Beach service (beach chairs, towels, fruit & water), and a savings book for Collections of Waikiki. great location. Enjoy the staff, surfboard lockers, and the pool. Close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. You cant get closer unless you are on the water, but for the price, you never will. Love staying here and will always chose this location if staying at a hotel in Waikiki.

Room Tip: Get one high and facing the water.

We are staying in this hotel for 5 days. Watch out this hotel is OLD, I am a dedicated Starwood Platinum member with 475 nights in Starwood properties. We were told we were up graded to an ocean view, but the two rooms are very small. In the kids room the chair has to be placed in front of the adjoining room door. In our bathroom you have get in the room and close the door to get in the tub. No club lounge, but we were offered free Continental breakfast for my wife and I but not the kids, even though they are on MY reservation. The pool is small and crowded. The room is clean, but wall paper is coming unglued from the wall.

We love the location, and the WiFi is free.

I don't feel this hotel is at the Starwood standards, and after you get used to the Platinum member perks, I feel very let down.

We apologize for miscommunication you may have received regarding SPG Platinum continental breakfast award, as the standard at our property is to provide 2 continental breakfasts to the room for which the Platinum member is registered. Thank you for sharing your comments regarding our wifi and location; we're happy that you enjoyed these. We appreciate your honest feedback. Mahalo!

What a disappointment! This hotel is so outdated. Decor in the room felt like a 70'ies hostel. Poorly working AC, room not cleaned properly, no AC in public areas and generally poor service. On the positive side: room was good sized, big balcony, excellent location.
Bad experience with the service at onsite Tour Company. A very rude and unipolite lady!! Not fit to work in the service industry.

The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel is set one block back from the beach. The hotel reception/concierge staff and housekeeping are friendly, helpful and efficient which makes you feel welcome on a personal basis. We stayed in a High Ocean View Room, the room was clean and spacious and the views from the balcony were exceptional. There are plenty of restaurants nearby the hotel which should suit all tastes and the hotel has buffet service in their restaurant. Cost in the hotel is approx $40 per person for dinner but nearby restaurant meals could average $50 per couple. Read some reports about hotel "crumbling". Although hotel could do with "freshening up" we had no complaints about our room or the reception area. Chairs and towels supplied if you want to go to the beach with complimentary soft drinks brought to you around 11.30am and 1.30pm (nice service!). Based on service and location I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Request a High Ocean View Room (above floor 18) facing Diamond Head rather than city view and ask fo...
