This was a decent hotel. I loved the view of the ocean and sitting on the lanai. The upgrade was worth it. The hotel staff was friendly and answered all our questions. The room was a bit small but was good for two people. The housekeeping was good. We got fresh towels and anything else that we needed. I would stay here again and recommened it to others.

Room Tip: The upgrade is worth it.

Nothing but good things to say with once exception which would be that i booked through expedia and in the description stated i would get a room from the seventh floor or up and i got a room on floor M which was basically the third floor and had no view. Oh, the wifi is only available in the lobby which wasnt a problem for me because my phone acted as a modem for our laptop but might be for others. The hotel itself was really nice, located in front of the zoo which believe it or not was on the more quiet side of waikiki, the pool and bar are on the third floor and its construced in a way that it has a beautiful view of diamond head. The room was awsome, the beds were very comfortable with a 42" flat screen, fridge and great AC, house keeping was really fast because one time i was gone for about only 15 minutes and when i came back the room was all done ~ even tho i didnt use hotel parking they were charging 15 bucks for 24 hours as opposed to other hotels that charge 20-25, but if you would rather not pay you can park on cartwright. For the children of the rainbow there is a gay bar in the hotel next door that always seems to have people having a great time. The location of this Hotel is great right next to the beach, also near the moped rental place if you use the go oahu card, and The Bus is across the street in the front of the hotel by the zoo.

I am currently staying in this hotel. Having checked in at midnight I approached the front desk this morning about a room change. This room is atrociously small. Only single rows about a foot wide surrounding one full bed. That's it. Desk worker offered us a 20 dollar per night upgrade to bigger room. Staying for 14 more nights makes that a bit pricey. She asked manager to cut down the price because of the length of our stay and our unhappiness.

We were told no. Never staying here again. Terrible cold response from management. Really....room size laughable.

This hotel from day one was a bust!!! Starting with the "Aloha" lacking personality of the staff, to the eroded bathroom sink fixtures that gushed out hot water and trickled out cold water...not good for an already humid day. Good luck getting housekeeping to tidy up, they must have roach phobia themselves. Upside, very short walk to the beach.

We made a flying trip to Honolulu at the end of January before we acquired a new addition to our family (Teddy the Staffordshire Bull Terrier) Funds were tight but we chose the Queen Kapiolani based on location and price and upgraded to a Diamond Head View room.
The room was large very comfortable with a lanai and breathtaking view as advertised. Big flat screen TV and we got our high floor as requested. I enjoyed the hotel immensely it was a perfect location for restaurants and for catching the bus to the Pro bowl (this wasnt our initial plan but we were stoked when it was so close!) The staff at reception were helpful when needed the foyer has internet (bit hit and miss) but they dont pretend you can get wireless above the 3rd floor - starbucks is on the corner so we stood outside there to check emails!
The hotel is value for money, clean and comfortable and I would recommend it.

Room Tip: upgrade to a room with a view if possible
