“Great Hotel - Great Location”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

Just stayed at the Outrigger Reef for 3 days whilst on a conference, and pleasantly surprised. Large rooms, great service, excellent location.
A great way to start the day is breakfast right on the beach watching all the activities - TIP: go to the a la carte restaurant on the RH side - not the buffet breakfast on the LH side (very ordinary).
The military museum is next door, and it is easy to kill 45 minutes to an hour browsing through here (free entry). Go for a walk and you will find that there are tons of options to explore within a 500 metre radius.

This was our 4th trip to Outrigger Reef on the Beach - and once again we had an amazing stay. Housemaid staff are very friendly and do a great job. The meals at the grill around the pool with the live music at night is lovely. The hotel is in an awesome location being right on the beach and so handy to everything else (shops, restaurants, transport etc). We will be back again for sure next year. We just so love the Outrigger and don't dare go anywhere else.

After staying here last year, we booked to stay here again and were not dissappointed. Nicely located with everything you need to have a relaxing holiday.
We eat at 2 of the 3 restaurants, and found both very good. Easy walk to all the retail shops and just love sitting in Shorebirds looking out over beach and Diamond Head. The rooms are very well kept and staff are freindly.
Only thing to watch out for are the Wynhan Salespeople and the make up sales ladies.

Just returned after staying six nights at the Outrigger. Booked through Pleasant Holidays. We had a partial room ocean view in the Ocean Tower. Very nice room. We overlooked the pool area and still had a great view of the ocean. The room itself was nice with everything you might need. On arrival we received a coupon book and used quite a few of them for the various stores and restaurants in the hotel and on the Beach walk. If you like Mai Tai's make sure you catch the afternoon happy hour, Mai Tai's for 3.50.

The beach is literally steps away from the hotel. You can rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach by the hour or for the day. Pretty reasonable.

The three restaurants on premise are decent. We ate breakfast at the Shorebird Restaurant most mornings. It is a buffet only. We didn't eat at the Ocean House and had lunch once at the
Kani Ka Pila Grille. They did have live music every night.

No complaints with the staff. All in all it was a very nice stay. However, if I were to visit Waikiki Beach again I would probably stay somewhere else.

This was my fourth time to stay at this hotel. It is a perfect location right on the beach, close to shopping and eateries. Just for sake of proximity, the Trump Tower sits behind this hotel and is not on the beach. When they are available, full ocean front rooms are the best, of course! A little larger room and an unobstructed view. Most amazing sunrises and sunsets! This time we were only able to get this room for two nights and then were moved to ocean view rooms...view of beach was from the lanai. Still very lovely. We slept with our slider open every night...the air was so balmy. If being close to the beach is important to you, too, be sure to understand the difference in room descriptions when booking as the words are very similar. Full ocean view, partial ocean view, full ocean front, etc. We ate in each of the 3 restaurants and enjoyed sharing a bottle of wine in the pool/hot tub area in the evenings. During the day there are both full sun and shaded areas around the pool. Umbrellas provide shade on the beach! Wine sold in the gift shop does not include an extensive variety but prices are very reasonable. Mostly couples and families...not a singles party environment...pretty quiet after 10 pm. Aloha, 'til next time!

A B C D our 12th annual girlfriends trip this year took us to Honolulu and our stay at the Outrigger Reef On The Beach was one of our best trips. The Outrigger Reef On The Beach is a Great hotel the best location within walking distance to Waikiki shopping, restaurants and right on the beach. The hotel is very clean and all the staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The pool was very nice and the Shore Bird Restaurant and Beach Bar was a lot of fun. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the ocean tower third floor east side (pool side) and the balcony's are a little bi...

I stayed in this Hotel from 12/10/2013 to 22/10/2013 in the Pacific Tower in Room 1053 (tenth floor). I found the Hotel to be in a good location only minutes away from the main street of Waikiki, meaning it was nice and quiet, however it was only a short walk to be in the midst of everything. The Hotel has been recently renovated and I loved the room and bathroom size and layout. The air-conditioning was quiet and efficient, and the shower had a great shower head with lots of water pressure. If I was going to complain about anything, it would only be that the room was quite dark.

You can walk out of the back of the Hotel straight onto the beach, though as the name suggests, this particular part of the beach is actually a Reef and therefore the bottom of the ocean is quite rocky - I didn't find this to be a drama. And if it's not to your liking, it's only a few minutes walk to the left to be on the main beach which is not on the Reef.

The staff were friendly and helpful and there were numerous shops and a Starbucks within the Hotel for basic requirements, with a large ABC store about 200 metres away. The Hotel also has a Laundry, a basic gym, and a computer room.

Free Wi-Fi was included, as were free calls to phone numbers within the U.S. and Canada. This is handy for booking or confirming any tours you want to do.

Room Tip: Ocean Tower is closest to the Ocean and the Pool, however tends to be noisier than Pacific Tower.
