We travelled with our adult children and booked two partial ocean rooms. We requested connecting rooms, both with king beds but one of the rooms had two beds. The service, ambience, and food was very good. The hotel is in a terrific location close to shopping and restaurants. The beach has a difficult access to the water as its rocky. We discovered on our last day that if you simply walk towards the Hilton, its much better!
The hotel itself has a very charming Hawaiian theme which we loved. We had a noise issue as our third floor rooms overlooked the terrace of the banquet center. There were two weddings when we were there, one of which ended at 10 which we were ok with but the second one disturbed us until one am. We called down several times and were told they were supposed to finish up by 10 and security would check, etc. it took several calls. However, we spoke with Meali Richardson, (Guest services manager) the next morning who refunded us the two nights. We had not asked for any refund and were grateful for the understanding she showed. We'd suggest that folks who like it quiet at night be very careful as to their room location. We'd go back but would book an ocean front room on a higher floor.
Maid service was good but often late in the day.
All in all we really enjoyed our time there and would recommend this hotel. Oahu is beautiful and there is a lot to see. A trip into the interior is wonderful.

Room Tip: If you like quiet, ask for a room on a higher floor away from the pool and banquet center.

Aloha from the Outrigger Reef on the Beach!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your recent stay.

Please accept our sincere apologies regarding the noise complaints from the wedding events that were scheduled during your stay. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and unsurpassed guest service and are concerned about this situation. We have addressed this matter with our Banquets Department & have taken measures to avoid a similar situation from happening again.

It is quite unfortunate that our room did not meet your expectations. Our connecting rooms are set up with one room king bed & the other 2 beds. The hotel does not have 2 rooms that connect that have king beds in each room. Although we make every attempt to meet the expectations of our guests, occasionally we are not able to provide all of our guests with exactly what they desire.

We are concerned that you felt our housekeeping services were inadequate but I will be sure to share your feedback with the staff. I am also happy you sought assistance from our Manager, Meali`i, & she was able to find a resolution for you in a quick & efficient manner so that you could continue enjoying your family vacation.

I sincerely hope that you are now assured of our intent and will allow us to serve you in the future.

Stopped for 3 nights and we were not disappointed. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and are of a good size. Facilities are excellent, restaurants, pool spa, gym etc, Would definitely stop here again, Have ready previous reviews where people say it is busy and too many tourists. Not sure what you are expected to expect at one of the most popular hotels in Hawaii?

We just arrived and have a few more days here. but first impressions, it's not a bad hotel. People are nice, rooms are clean with plenty of room really compared to a lot in Waikiki.
Wifi great, elevators fast and the pool is adequate.
But the extra ocean view we paid for is a little poor in the tower we are in.
Apparently this class of room stretches along the hotel, so if like us you are toward the street, if you lean out your balcony and look to your right, you can catch a glimpse. I am told there are other superior ocean view rooms in the tower toward the beach for which you pay the same, but I guess there is a little less 'rubber necking'.
So my advice is either pay ocean view but make sure it is in the tower close to the beach, or maybe don't bother and pay for a regular room.

Aloha Darren W,
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on your recent/current stay.

Please accept our sincere apologies for your dissatisfaction with your room assignment.

It is quite unfortunate that our room did not meet your expectations. Although we make every attempt to meet the expectations of our guests, occasionally we are not able to provide all of our guests with exactly what they desire.

Our ocean view rooms are primarily located in 2 different areas of the hotel with two different perspectives.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed the rest of your vacation. It is good to know that you found the rooms comfortable, the Wifi great, the pool adequate & the staff friendly. I will definitely share these comments with them.

We do hope that you choose the Outrigger Reef on the Beach as your destination of choice if you visit our beautiful islands again.

My husband and I stayed here in June for two nights. It was two nights too many. They were not very friendly when we checked in they never told us that you need to use your room key in the elevator. When we got to our room we could not believe that it was a partial ocean view. We went to the front desk and were given another room. The view was a little better, but not by much, if you leaned over the railing and looked to the right you could see the ocean. Not to happy about the view since we booked this trip months in advance. It was mainly the view of the hotel next door and to the left was the city. The pool is in the middle of the hotel where everyone walks through to get to the beach. The staff was not that friendly, only the bellman. They were great and very helpful to us.
We should have stayed next door at the Halekulani, beautiful and quiet. We did go over there to see if they had any rooms. They were booked. If you are booking through Pleasant Holiday they do not have a rep there and if they book the car with Hertz you will have to walk around 15 mins to get your car and if you are late Hertz will give your car away.
Overall the room was clean and the bed was nice.

Great location...Right on the beach, and in walking distance to everything. Beautiful hotel, love the grounds, very open and airy, first floor is all open, no walls, so really nice breezes...Grounds are well kept, with waterfall and nice pool, cute tiki bar by pool....Love that you walk right onto beach....and the restaurants at hotel have awesome views. Only downfall is big coral reef at hotel, so tough on your feet.
