Great view from the 19th Floor! Close to everything with friendly and helpful staff. Look forward to returning next year. Nice and quiet. Only drawback was lack of laundromat on the premises but there wasn't one too far away...

Room Tip: Up on the 19th floor! Nice and relaxing place to stay with friendly staff. Only drawback was lack o...

Mahalo Kate for your recent 5star review on Tripdvisor it is greatly appreciated and we hope to welcome you back in the near future. We do have a laundromat on the street level so we are hoping you were able to use the facility during your stay.

I have been staying at the Ohana East since I was a 12 year old girl, we travel to Ohau as often as possible and always stay at the Ohana East. Two occasions we stayed at a pricier hotel on the beach and found it to be unfriendly and not worth the extra money. This hotel has gone above and beyond to make us feel like family and at home during our stay. I cannot say a bad word about this property. Pool is always clean, rooms always clean, staff always friendly and accommodating.

Overall the hotel is nice, the lower floors were being renovated with at least new carpeting and decor and would expect that will continue throughout the hotel. Unfortunately the supply closet we were stuck in had not been updated nor was it spacious enough for 2 people to really relax and enjoy some quiet time away from the activity. If you book the "Standard Room' be prepared for a broom closet sized room with very little room to move around. One person would be ok with it but two adults will be tripping over each other. We were offered an upgrade at check in for $20 more, which was $10 more than if we had booked that online originally.

There is no patio attached to the room or nearby but the benefit is a great view of the ocean. The pool is nice and quiet but there is a catch...the sun only hits the pool area for a few hours in the afternoon and leaves as quickly as it came. You can sneak over to the West and use their pool but get there early for a seat. Wi-fi was sporadic at best and fairly slow but good enough to book rental cars or plan day trips.

The benefits are the location, only a 3 minute walk to the beach or shopping, inexpensive cost(in comparison to other hotels) per night and the amenities close by. Keoni's for breakfast is an absolute must, special breakfast #1. Everything is walking distance from the hotel, some more than others but as long as you avoid the 'Standard Room' you should be happy with your stay. Mahalo.

Room Tip: Standard Room sucks!! Avoid it at all costs.

My husband and I have stayed at the Ohana East Hotel on several occasions and still get the same wonderful service that brings us back to this location. On this occasion we booked a King Size room and were on the 14th floor with an amazing view of the King's Village and ocean from our room and balcony. This hotel is very comfortable and we had one of the best housemaids ever. Our room was spotless and she was very security conscious. The location of the hotel is perfect for our needs. Half a block from the International market and eateries all around the hotel and the two main restaurants within the hotel complex itself are very good value and food is great. We would always go back to this hotel for convenience to everything.

Room Tip: We would go for a king size room, mainly because they are higher and the views are better. The othe...

We stayed at the Ohana East this last week and had a great time! I would gladly stay there again for the price. Location to the beach is very easy and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful, I would not pay attention to other reviews about staff issues. Thanks Ohana. Hope to see you again soon.

In a busy city, this hotel is very well located if you want access to both the beach, good shopping and many restaurants. It does have an awkward elevator operating system which has you inserting your key card in order to use the elevator to get to your floor. It does have free wireless internet services and computers to use if you don't have your own. The room was adequate, but the bathroom needs updating. The staff is very good and there is a helpful travel advisory person available too. The air condition system needs upgrading. The hotel is clean.

Great low cost hotel. Ideal location just one block back from the beachfront, we upgraded to a city view room for $2 per night, well worth it. The room is well equiped with coffee making facilities, fridge, large flat screen tv and air con. The balcony was a little small but it was ok for 2 people, just.
The decor and carpet was ever so slightly tired but was clean and more than acceptable for a 3* hotel, saying that, signs were posted here and there informing guests of new carpet installation dates. A couple of the sockets in our room didn't work and the bathroom tap was a little difficult to shut off - none of this really mattered though.
Of course, you could pay a lot more money to stay at a higher star rated hotel and it would be better but for the money this is perfectly suitable. We would stay again.
