We stayed here for 8 nights in mid March. We booked it thru HOTWIRE. You will save about $20 per night when you book on HOTWIRE off the lowest hotel rate we found. If you want to book on HOTWIRE, pick diamond head location and it has 95% satisfaction rating with breakfast. Booking on HOTWIRE, you will get the less desireable rooms. We ended up on the 3rd floor next to the pool and breakfast area. It had no view and surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was good, hot, and healthy. You get your normal breakfast items plus rice, kimchi, and miso soup. The gym was good size with lots of cardio equipment and barbells as the only weights. The pool is tiny, but you are so close to the beach. You are able to take the pool towels to the beach. The location is very good as you are near the south end of the beach where it is less busy. Excellent sushi resteraunt across the street in the Mariott where it is 50% off sushi between 5:30-6pm on Mondays. Also, fresh udon resteraunt is about 10-15min walk - min 20min line up to get in, but it is cheap and good. The line moves quick and it is worth the wait. If you want to hike to diamond head, it about 7 miles from the hotel. $25 ride to the airport using johnnycabhi.com - realable with pickup and return. Can't wait for our next trip here.

Aloha Elcheapee,
Please note that our hotel does not judge a guest based on where they book their stay, and we create an equal playing field when assigning guest rooms. We are happy that you enjoyed our complimentary a.m. Kitchen Skillet options... not too many other hotel's offer kimchi and miso soup for breakfast in Waikiki. It gives us great pleasure to hear that you will be returning to us again in the near future!

We stayed here from March 18 - March 21. This hotel is a great location, we took advantage of the taxi service from their web page, Charlie's Taxi offers a flat rate from the airport for $29. Good deal and that way you don't have to stop at everyone else's hotel before you get to yours. This hotel is one block from zoo and maybe two blocks to the Duke on Waikiki Beach. We had a room with an ocean view and diamond head view on the 11th floor, but I don't know if I'd pay for that next time, as you are barely in your room and also the hotels below are pretty dumpy looking. The rooms/hotel is beautifully renovated. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was excellent. Huge selection of stuff to choose from and you could take it to your room to eat if you'd like. We did as we found a lot of people in the breakfast line rude and pushy.....you'd think that someone had said this is all the food we have left, so get it now or you'll have none.....not quite sure why people were like that but they were. The pool area is small but not as small as I was expecting from reading other reviews. My daughter was the only one in it a few times. It has lots of lounge chairs around it, so I was always able to sit while she swam. The hotel also has two little gift/snack shops in the basement which were very reasonably priced for their snacks and souvenirs. There is also an ABC store just one block over. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Depending on how much time you are going to be spending in your room, I would not pay for an ocean view.

This is a new hotel by hyatt and I give it a try. As a platinum member, the hotel upgraded me to penthouse. Room are spacious with double bed, desk and sitting sofa .
Bathroom are just regular , nothing fancy. Overall clean and decent.
Check in was pleasant , friendly
Front desk.
The only problem I had with the hotel is the service of housekeeping . Requested for a shaver cream , take 3 calls and 55mins to delivered which is totally unacceptable .
Other than that, everything is great . Walking distance to beach, Starbucks next block and tips!!!!! Hotel lobby convenient store, prices are less than ABC store. So check the prices and check the hotel store.

I stayed here March 18-25,2014. Most of the reviews I had read prior to booking are very accurate. The hotel is freshly renovated, modern and clean. The staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. We travel a lot and encountered some of the friendliest and most helpful staff. Special mention to Troy, Jing jing and the tall fellow with grey hair who was concierge for a night. You gave us excellent advice! We loved the free hot breakfast and free wifi and these two features alone would be why I would be likely to stay here when I return. There is no resort fee, which is excellent. There is reasonable parking nearby. When we arrived the regular parking, which I had noted was cheaper than other places, was full and only expensive valet parking was left. We drove across the street and parked for a reasonable weekly rate. This worked fine. Check in was very quick and painless. We were told we were "upgraded" from a mountain view to a city view room. Can that ever be considered an upgrade? I questioned this and was told the room was bigger but I seen other rooms the maid was cleaning and this was not the case. However, our lower room made it very accessible to breakfast, lobby and work out room so we were content, especially since the elevators could be slow at peak times. The hotel is very close to the beach and conveniently located next to an abc store. As a gold passport member there are extra perks that are worth it. We especially appreciated a hospitality room at the end of our last day at the beach to shower before our 10 pm flight. I was extremely pleased with this hotel. Mahalo for making our trip so great!

Just back from an eight night stay at the Hyatt Place. The location is convenient to just about everything that you will need. Less than five minutes walk to the beach. The hotel will provide you with towels for the beach at no extra charge. We were in room 1532 with a spectacular view of the beach. For those that have complained about the breakfast, not sure what your issue was but the selection is outstanding. The only complaint would be that some of the hotel guests could be a little more considerate of others that have not yet eaten their breakfast and not load your plate up four and five times. All in all this is a wonderful hotel and the staff are very nice especially the lady at check out yesterday who put me at ease after I had to report that I had spilt an entire cup of coffee on the carpet in our room as we were leaving. The aloha spirit is alive with this hotel and its' employees.
