I stayed here as part of a group (i.e. I did not select the hotel). The hotel seemed to be newly refurbished. The rooms were very clean and well designed. The room I had (8th floor) had a small lanai with two chairs. The bathroom was a bit small but sufficient. The beds were very comfortable with large pillows. Amenities included in-room coffee, extra towels and free wireless internet. The included breakfast was great with plenty of fresh fruit and a wide variety of breakfast entree options (western and eastern types). The open-air breakfast area was nice, but sometimes a bit too windy in the morning.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent. Although not on the ocean, it is a block from Waikiki Beach. You could use a hotel pool towels to take to the beach. There are many nearby restaurants, bars, and of course, ABC Stores.

I would stay here again. I recommend the Hyatt Place without reservation.

Room Tip: You might want to get a lower floor as the elevators are a bit slow.

Dear GlenLivet,
Mahalo for your very kind feedback. We hope you had an enjoyable stay while visiting Waikiki Beach. It is great to hear that you enjoyed our complimentary amenities and comfortable bedding and breakfast offerings. Our apologies if the wind was a minor disruption during your breakfast experience on our patio. It is very rewarding to hear that you will return to us without reservation. In the interim, we remain at your service.

only stayed one night but the staff was super friendly at check in and the room was spacious enough for our family of four. Our corner room had great ocean views and it was a quick walk to the beach. Would stay there again. Got a great rate on bookit.com.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in March. The hotel was very clean, had up-to-date decor, and a good, comfortable bed. Looking out our balcony view we could see Diamond Head. The one down side to the room (#1840) is it is in a corner and sounded like a loud wind tunnel. So, the first night it was hard to sleep as the wind was so loud (also heard 4 ambulances but it was St. Patty's night so that is probably why). The wind tunnel noise was not quite as loud the 2nd night or maybe we were just more tired. The first day my husband spent a long time on the phone as our free room internet service was not working (he was transferred 3 times and they explained that they only had so many numbers available and they had to create a new one for him--we went downstairs to the lobby to use their computers as they couldn't get us set up for at least an hour.) There is a free continental breakfast which is about average for offerings and taste. There is a small pool but no hot tub. There is also an exercise room. The only parking available is valet at $25.00/day. Hotel checkout is at noon and they do not have a separate room you can shower and change in if you have a late flight. We had a 9 p.m. flight so they held our luggage from noon until 5 p.m.; however, we couldn't change or shower there after spending the day at the beach. This aspect was a little unsettling since we are Hyatt Gold Passport members.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not affected by loud wind noises--maybe not so high up or not in a corner?

Dear MN_Travel_Bug_1,
Mahalo for your honest feedback. We apologize if the wind tunnel noise you experienced during your stay. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we will be sure to address this incident with our Director of Engineering immediately. Also, we are terribly sorry to hear that the internet connection in your guest room was malfunctioning. We welcome your suggestion on having a changing room available after check out time. With our current floor plan having a dedicated changing/bathing room is a challenge. When we have the opportunity to modify rooms this opition will be at the top of our list. Currently with we have the option of part day charge to accomadate the use of the guest room after check out. If we can be of further assistance please contact our Assistant General Manager, Imre Gonczy at (808) 931-4387 or via email at: imre.gonczy@hyattplacewaikikibeach.com. We hope that you will give us another chance to exceed your expectations if given the opportunity in the future.

This newly renovated room was specious and well appointed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Great location, walking distance to beaches, shopping, restaurants, night life. Would definitely stay there again.
