“Clean, good customer service, centrally located”
Reviewed September 7, 2011

Clean, good customer service, centrally located in Waikiki and within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and tour pick up spots. We were at the Ramada for only 3 nights before we went on our Hawaiian cruise amd we have no complaints other than having to go out for breakfast. The staff was very welcoming and helped us with directions and arranging transportation whenever we needed it.

I live in Hawaii so I just wanted to stay downtown for the weekend. The deal was great I took a blind deal on one of the websites and this was what I got. Location wasn't to bad your not on the main strip so expect to do a little walking. When I called to confirm reservations and ask about parking ($16 a day) they were very short with me on the phone. The room it self is old and a little run down. The pool isn't to bad and there won't be many people at it. Overall its downtown and cheap, defiantly no frills.

Aloha!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us recently. As I am sure you are aware, our location and price are very attractive. And our parking rates are one of the best values in Waikiki, at only $15 per day. There are some in excess of $30 per day in other hotels. I am glad you found us to be budget-friendly and conveniently located. And it is true about our pool not being over-crowded. Most folks simply walk across the street to the beach for swimming, but the pool is available for those that prefer fresh water swimming, or for just relaxing away from the crowds.
Thank you for sharing your valuable comments. We appreciate them very much as it helps us to improve! Mahalo!

The hotel is conveniently located near the famous Waikiki beach, restaurants, and shopping centers. For the price that we paid for the room, this hotel is a great value (great bargain). At night time, it was pleasant short walk from the hotel to the beach to watch the sunset and for a quick swim. The room is clean with all the amenities. The hotel staff are courteous and are very helpful with travel tips and requests. The computers downstair are handy which allow us to do a quick check before making day trip for the island. We highly recommend for family travel in group. We love the place and plan to be back there again soon.

We've stayed at the Ramada Plaza around a dozen times over the past decade. It used to be the Holiday Inn and was bought out and renovated over the past 18 months.

The prices are good, and if you can get one of the Jnr suites located on the PH (penthouse) level do so. The 2 bed suite on the side away from Ala Moana is quieter- as the road is always patched with metal grating so you can hear cars driving over the metal at night, the other side of the building is MUCH better. The staff are great, my only complaint- THEY DO NOT HAVE BOTTLE OPENERS in the rooms- how weird is that and reception suggested I buy one or come down stairs and they will open bottles- it's just odd.

The beds are great ,pillows comfortable, pool usually empty because the beaches are so close- so if you don't like salt sand and crowds you could have a pool to yourself.

There is a fantastic Indian restaurant 1 minutes walk away, an ABC store for milk etc for your rooms kitchen, and of course the Ala Moana Shopping centre is 5 minutes walk. If you need to mail postcards, there is a US mail box on the corner near the back entrance to the hotel.

The rooms are super clean, and the JNR Suites have decent balcony's with views (but not of the beach). You know they are doing the right thing when you keep returning and we keep doing so. A box of hawaiian chocolates and bottle water awaited us (free) which was thoughtful. Not sure if this is just for the jnr suite or all rooms.

Room Tip: Book early and try to stay in the jnr suite. You can pay for the whole room up front, while AUD is s...

Thank you for your very kind review. I am glad that you continue to come back and that you are comfortable here. And the handy tips you gave are much appreciated. We do happen to be in a great location and the back of the building is definitely quieter right now. Our proximity to the beach, shopping, restaurants, etc. is a definite asset and I am glad you have been taking advantage of this. We look forward to your next visit. Thanks again for the great comments and insights into our hotel. Mahalo!

I recently stayed @ the Ramada Plaza Waikiki and thoroughly enjoyed my stay which was a combination of business & pleasure. The hotel, while not on the beach offers a great variety of Honolulu views, including some water views. The Ramada is very clean and the rooms comfortable and recently renovated. The front desk, bellmen and activites desk were extremely helpful. One of the best parts is the location - the Ramada is located directly across from the Hilton Hawaiian Village and a 3 minute walk gets you to the shops, restaurants & bars and the Beach. While there is a parking fee at the Ramada a quick pre-booking comparison showed that it was the best value in Waikiki. I will be back to the Ramada Plaza Waikiki.

And with restaurants, shopping, convention facilities and of course, the beach, all within walking distance, we are perfectly situated to take the worry out of figuring out where to stay to be able to do all these things. I am also happy to see that you found our parking to be a great value. It really is! We look forward to seeing you again in the future and once again, thank you for your comments. Mahalo!

This is an older hotel that looks like it has been very tastefully remodeled recently. This is not a resort where we would hang out at the pool or the beach (it's not on the beach), but it served us well as our home base while we were exploring the island. I was worried that we might be too close to the street, but there was no noticeable road noise to hinder our sleep.
