There were good times here and not so good. We stayed in the Ali'i Tower. Very nice. Treated very well. The restaurants are very very expensive. We ate at the Lanikai Juice more than once. Great juice and healthy food. The beach here is lovely. The worst...lazy guys at the towel return at the pool. Four young guys standing, middle aged woman (me)...asked me to walk around the stand to throw in my used towels. REALLY? Low class. Also when my family was seated a head of me at the Tropics Bar, I came in and said "My family has been seated already, the hostess said "Not by me" and did not offer to help me locate the. REALLY?? Sorry for being a downer. This place is just a little too huge.

Room Tip: We did not have an ocean view but a courtyard room. It was very nice, until we opened our balcony d...

They have upgraded us to the ocean view room at no cost (1st +). Had a nice view from the deck to ocean and the pool. (2nd +). It has got nice restaurants inside but trust me, it is no place for vegetarians.. it was a bit hard to find veggie (no-meat) food.. Beach side restaurants were expensive but had good live music giving a carnival effect :) Last but not least, Friday evening fireworks and the show were a big + at low cost and with a free drink :)

Room Service could have been better. In our 4 day stay, the room was cleaned for only 3 days. We just let it go as next day early morning we were checking out.

Stayed in Oahu for 6 days and stayed at Hilton Hawaiian for 4 days.
The hotel staff was very courteous and accommodating.
The proximity to the ocean and pools were great
Definitely the best hotel to stay and top notch service.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and what a waste of 22 acres that hold so much potential. If you are looking for an overly commercialized human tropical zoo, then this is your place. Check-in/Check-out was worse than a Las Vegas casino on a Friday evening. We waited more than 30 mins just to check in - and I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member! Some of the staff were helpful/friendly, but the majority seemed to be in robot mode.

The overcrowded feel follows you everywhere: (i) finding a parking space in the multi-story garage is a nightmare (self-parking is $27/day, fyi); (ii) there was never any space at the main pool; (iii) the restaurants were packed with people, but the food was subpar; and (iv) some of the staff were helpful/friendly, but the majority seemed to be in robot mode.

Geographically, the resort lies at the absolute northern edge of Waikiki. There is a 1/3rd mile walkway along the beach, but you have to move into the interior once you get to the other side. It definitely feels isolated from Waikiki, which could have its benefits if the resort wasn't such a disaster.

This mammoth of a resort fails in nearly all important aspects of a well designed/executed hotel should be (they don't even have room service!!). Look at one of the many resorts in central Waikiki.

I was in Hawaii with a couple of friends and we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. We had a suite that was sweet! We had a western view, rather than the 'normal' eastern / Diamond Head view, but that was awesome because we could sit on the deck and see the sunsets and rainbows. It was really the most relaxed I've been in a long time... just acting (almost) like a beach bum for a week. I highly recommend it. And the resort was well located for access to their private lagoon and beach as well as the whole of Waikiki beach.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side may give you a view of the ocean and Diamond Head, while rooms on the west si...

There are over 400 hotels in a one and a half mile stretch!! - this says it all.

The hotel was Comfortable, clean and near to the sea - But this is NOT Hawaii!!!

The food offered by many of the restaurants was of good quality... But we were advised by a couple of employees that better food and at more reasonable prices was available off site.... We agree!!

Prices are expensive as are the tours offered via the booths around the resort... Your better off buying them from outlets outside the resort.

Your resort charges ($30 per night) on top of your room charge, includes 'High Speed' wireless Internet which is at the very best slow - For no apparent reason your wireless link will drop and take ages to restore... The support desk acknowledge that this is a known problem,!!

To cap it all.. Two of the towers were building sites for the whole week... Lounging by the pool or sitting on the balcony was near on impossible due the the continuous grinding / drilling. Obviously complaining was pointless...

Will we come back to this resort / island? - NO

Will we be back to Hawaii (another island) - YES!!

They have upgraded us for ocean view for free. Room was ocean view with just one obstacle in the middle (another tower)...we were in Kalia tower. I have no complaints about staff or room, everything went fine with me.

On Friday night's, you can enjoy fire works for free and you don't have to stress to get to beach as Hotel got open access.

Restaurants and other things are certainly expensive, but Island itself is expensive anyway. WIFI is faster, they have enough pools (but they are crowded).

I did not try their Luau, so no opinion. There is a shopping village inside hotel, it gives you good feel.

If they are hearing me, they can provide discount on parking for hotel guests. $27 is high.
