Great resort, however I'm unhappy in regards to that it is mandatory that you must pay $25 a day for wifi and other inclusive items whether you use them or not. These are charged after your booking & room payment when you checkout. Something to consider and be aware of which you can't avoid.

Hi - Normally I don't write negative reviews, but have to on this one. We did a destination wedding to Hawaii. We chose HHV due to its location to the beach. That's the only positive for this hotel. The rooms were clean but dated. Food/drink was way overpriced. Do yourself a favor and walk down to Outrigger for better deals/food. I'm sure the place would be great for families, but for ANYONE doing a honeymoon and want a relaxing time to enjoy each other, go somewhere else. We spent the second leg of the trip on Maui at the Hyatt and it saved our vacation.

To the golf cart lady that actually argued with my bride while we were trying to get a courtesy ride to our limo, please take a class on customer service.

We won't return to this place. Hawaii seems way overrated in price/benefit coming from the east close. Can go to the Caribbean for a great beach and better service.

Aloha G B,

Mahalo for choosing the Hilton Hawaiian Village and congratulations on your marriage! We are sorry to learn our resort offerings fell short of your expectations and the service you received was not representative of our aloha spirit. For the convenience of our guests, we can assure you our food and beverage outlets offer a variety of cuisines at all price-points comparable to the Waikiki and Honolulu area. We appreciate you taking time to share your concerns as we continuously work to improve our service and offerings. We hope you will allow us another opportunity to welcome you back to HHV the next time you are in town.

Mahalo,
Hilton Hawaiian Village Guest Services Team

We stayed on the eleventh floor of the Rainbow Tower facing east toward Diamondhead. The view was spactacular and the beach was just steps away. Hands down the best beach on Wakiki due to the width. Many hotels have little or no beach making them very crowded. The beach at the Hilton is quite spacious. The main pool is large compared to most other hotels and there were several smaller pools too. We went and checked out many other hotels and for the price the Rainbow Tower is an excellent value. Oh and the ocean waves were very clearly audible from the room; so lovely. The room was recently refurbished and very clean. Every room in the Rainbow Tower has a balcony, which was a great place to hang out.

We came to Honolulu for a conference. The Hilton hotel is comprised of several towers. We chose the Ali'i tower which was a little more expensive but really worth it if you want to have a bit more privacy and quiet time. This tower has its own pool (with their own towel service) and fitness facility. Our room was clean, spacious with sitting area and had a beautiful oceanview. The only drawback was that the loading deck of the hotel was 8 floor below our room so we could hear all the trucks coming in and out! The beach is clean but can be very crowded. We booked a Snorkel & Sail tour from the Hilton tour desk and the staff were really helpful. The Hilton resort offers a wide variety of food that are moderately to very expensive. We thought the best and cheapest option was to pickup an order of Pizza and eat on our balcony. The alcohol is cheap when you buy it at the ABC store either on the resort or anywhere in the city. Lastly, we had booked some Spa services including massages and facial for the two of us. All services were very good.

Room Tip: Consider booking a room in the Ali'i tower which is little more expensive but really worth it if...

We stayed here for almost 2 weeks and really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend signing up for the free Hilton Honors program before coming here because it will save you quite a bit of time at check-in and check-out, because there is a dedicated line for Hilton Honors members. The multitude of shops and restaurants on the property make it almost unnecessary to leave the property. It is close to Ala Moana Center and International Market Place. Occasionally we took the trolley but we usually walked to International Market Place and the restaurants and shops in Waikiki. The pools and lagoon were nice but really cold. In tried stand up paddle boarding in the lagoon and loved it. The fireworks on the beach every Friday night were really cool. We were in Diamond Head tower, which was nice, we could see the beach and the mountains from our balcony. We did the on site Luau and the food wasn't as good as we expected. If you want a really great luau with awesome food go to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Overall, it's a great hotel and convenient.

Nice location=close enough to everything in Waikiki (you could walk to the Zoo at the other side of Waikiki from this property in 15-20min and about 15 minutes the other way to Ala Moana). Located on a stretch of the beach with lots of sand so you could always find a place for your towel. The lagoon was a lot colder then the ocean and the sand was hard packed so it wasn't as nice to lay around. You could rent kayaks and paddle boats in the lagoon and it would be perfect for younger kids so you could keep better eye on them and wouldn't have to worry about waves/current.
Great pools but i found them very cold. lots of children seemed to be really enjoying them, the bigger pool even had a lifeguard on duty. We stayed for most of our trip in the Ali'i tower which had its own pool on a second floor deck and it was much warmer and also had nice cushioned lounge chairs with a beach view. This worked great for us because baby could lay on the cushions between my legs while i read in the shade.
Restaurants were okay. Fresco Italian restaurant was the best, and the Tropics on the beach had a nice atmosphere. Everything else we found subpar especially considering the prices. Food at this resort is very expensive for what you get. I know this resort has some rooms that have kitchens and i think it would have been worth the upgrade in price to have the ability to prepare your own breakfast and lunch.
The luau was disappointing. The dancers were great and very talented but it lacked the traditional feel a luau should offer. The food wasn't that great and the Kalua pig was not even the featured dish, it was served shredded with the rest of the buffet and they had a chef serving a prime rib as the feature dish. Being on the deck didn't offer much for a view either as its surrounded by the 5 towers of the resort.
The rooms were nice. first we stayed for 4 nights in the Tapa tower- older room with a partial view on the 15th floor. it needed updating but was comfortable and clean. We then moved to the Ali'i tower second floor partial ocean view facing the park for 11 nights. it was fully updated and a much nice building. The private deck and pool were great, and had an open air gym. I would recommend this building. The Resort offers a room for 20min a person to shower and clean up in the day of your flight if you have a late flight and need to check out early- this was perfect. It was in the diamond head tower which had no view or balcony and needed upgrading more then the Tapa tower, but was still clean and comfortable.
Staff were mostly friendly. Came across a few 'not so helpful' employees.
overall nice place-

Room Tip: Ali'i tower was the nicest of the three towers we saw
