“Tapa Tower”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Stayed at this Hotel for over 60 days. Lawrene made check in as easy as possible. Very good at her job and was pleasantly nice. Very busy hotel. I stayed in the Tapa Tower. rooms are a little older but overall nice. House keeping did an outstanding job by keeping the rooms cleaned. Can be a little noisy at night if you are trying to rest. The Tapa bar is in an open area and always have live entertainment every night. Firework display is every Friday night. The restaurants are a little pricey and well as the ABC stores within the hotel. The walls are a little thin, can be noisy as well. Also if you are going to stay for a long period, there are no laundry facilities within the hotel. Overall not bad at all.

Room Tip: My associates reside in the Kalia tower and they said its better in that tower because its newer.

If you enjoy a glass of wine while sitting on your lanai make sure you bring your own glasses! HHV staff will NOT allow you to borrow wine glasses, they will, however, give you plastic glasses....
Really? They say it's for safety but they have glass drinking glasses in our room. Go figure! They will sell you a glass for $12, so where is the safety here?
I've stayed at this resort many times and this really surprised me.

Room Tip: Rainbow Tower, upper floors for great view.

Aloha wahinehoni2000,

Mahalo for returning to the Hilton Hawaiian Village! We appreciate your patronage and understand your concern with our room amenities. We apologize that because our guest rooms do not feature a kitchen, our rooms are not stocked with utensils and additional glassware aside from the tumblers that are arranged during housekeeping service. We invite guests wanting to enjoy a glass of wine to join us at any of our bars for full service. Otherwise, HHV gladly provides complimentary plastic wine and champagne glasses available for pick up at any of our F&B outlets. We appreciate you taking time to share your feedback and look forward to having you again.

Mahalo,
Hilton Hawaiian Village Guest Services Team

We stayed in the Ali'i tower, which had recent upgrades, so it was lovely. Room was clean - housekeeping did a great job. Beautiful beach, great for little ones, as the waves were not too strong. Restaurants onsite were fine but pricey, we ate outside of the hotel more often to find a better deal. Staff was friendly. Overall, a very good experience. I would stay there again!

Very busy place and hard to track down
good service. Of course a beautiful beach
but seemed like there were too many restrictions. You must get a map to figure
out the maze and especially with the on
going construction. Downtown would of been a better choice.

This was my first trip to Honolulu and I was surprised how busy it was. After making it through the hustle and bustle of the city I was surprised by how different the resort felt being so central to everything. This resort is huge with a lot of people moving in and out but we found our 8 nights very relaxing. I had two rooms reserved, one paid and one reward stay, both were upgraded to ocean front view in rainbow tower for being hhonors gold status. The hhonors breakfast was also included and located in rainbow tower. The breakfast was a continental breakfast but we loved it for the fresh fruit and daily variety of pastries. Also, if you are like us and wake up early from the time difference you can find a seat on the deck and have a priceless view of the sunrise over diamond head. A lot of restaurants to choose from on site or within walking distance. For those who don't rent a car for the entire trip there are car rental companies right across the street to rent a car for the day. The only negative comment I have would be the new resort fee if $25 per month which is assessed to any paid night and not a reward night. The fee doesn't provide anything and just seems like a way to charge more per room without increasing rates. If the fee covered things like beach chairs or umbrellas I would have loved it but they were extra so we bought some from costco and saved a few bucks. Overall was an awesome experience and I would definitely recommend, especially for a reward redemption (avoids the one negative aspect :)).

It was an ok hotel. The location was perfect! Right in the middle of Waikiki Beach area, close to all the shopping. One thing to note, this hotel is HUGE! They have different towers and I was pretty confused. The elevators are small and so were the hallways. The hotel rooms were small, and nothing great... the bathroom was small as well. I think everything was small in general... mind you we just came in from Maui. We stayed in a one bedroom suite on the 16th floor of the diamond tower. The best thing about this hotel were the staff. Very friendly, very knowledgeable and willing to help whenever they can. I don't know if I would stay here again... I think I will try another hotel around the area and cough up a little bit more money.

Aloha Homes11_CA,

Mahalo for choosing the Hilton Hawaiian Village! It is always our pleasure to hear of our team making a difference in our guests’ stay. The aloha spirit goes a long way and makes all the difference in our service. We apologize if the size of HHV had appeared overwhelming at first and appreciate your feedback as we are amidst our rejuvenation project to improve our grounds. Thank you for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit.

My husband and I stayed here for the first time from Feb 25-1 Mar 2013 and loved it. We were upgraded to the Ali'i Tower which has its own fitness room and pool only for guest of that tower. The room was nicely appointed with obvious recent upgrades which made our stay very comfortable. The hotel grounds has a lot to offer such as shopping and dining. I thought that the onsite restaurants such as Tropics was really over priced but it was just a short walk to cheaper alternatives. Waikiki shopping was just a few blocks away. I know some reviewers stated that the walk to Waikiki was a bit far but I have to disagree, it only takes 10 min in flip flops to make it to the main shopping area. We also attended the luau which was great fun and the food was terrific. Close to the beach and everything you need to have a great vacation, I really enjoyed my stay, and BTW the staff was amazing very friendly I can't wait to come back in a couple of months.

Room Tip: There is construction going on but the noise is only during daytime hours, rooms facing the ocean sh...
