We had a great stay and location was great, people friendly, really loved it. But got slammed 200.00 for resort tax !!! For extras, its at the discretion of the hotel who gets taxed, my daughter and family didn't. Be careful and have extra cash, u pay for everything , paddle boards , umbrellas and its expensive.

I would like to thank the staff of Hawaiian Hilton village for the great service that they have provided us for our stay at the Hilton village. I would especially like to thank the resort activity manager Mr David Carroll for personally looking after us and sorting issues for us.
The resort itself is in an amazing location with lots to offer. The good thing about this place is there is always something to do from relaxing to any level of activities that one would want to indulge in. The beach, Waikiki center, Ala Moana center and the lot are close by with lots eating places. This is definitely an all inclusive resort. Thank you once again the staff and management of the Hawaiian Hilton village. Aloha

We stayed for four nights in the Ali'i Tower in a Full Ocean View room at a rate of $449/night. The Ali'i Tower has a separate check in/out, which expedited things. The room (A1004) was nice - comfortable bed, nice blacony and a great view of the Ali'i pool and beach, which was a great spot to watch the sunset and the Friday night fireworks the hotel puts on.

The resort is massive and at the end (on the Marina side) of Waikiki. Though you're sort of far away from the center of the Waikiki hustle and bustle, it never feels like it because the hotel is so massive and has it's own sizable crowds everywhere. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to most other resorts/shops/restaurants. Hilton has done a decent job of trying to keep its captive audience by putting almost everything anyone needs or wants on property, but I'd recommend you stray outside of the village and see the rest of the area.

The hotel pools were all unpleasantly cold, which was disappointing. The pool chairs also fill up early with the "reserved with my towel" game people love to play. Though the hotel says you are not permitted to leave a towel on an empty seat for more than an hour, they don't enforce the rule. So unless you get up early to play the game, you won't have a chair at the pool. We complained to the pool towel guy and he advised he was just a contractor for the Hilton and that he wasn't responsible for enforcing the rules. (Ironically, one day we finally spotted a couple empty chairs so we pushed them together and sat in the sun. We left for about 30 minutes to go get a drink and came back to find our towels gone - apparently the SAME pool towel guy had just decided to enforce the rules, and only on us. When we went to explain our towels (for which they fione you $10 each if you don't return them) had been taken, the pool guy rudely responded with "Waaah, someone took my towel" feigning to cry, like we were a couple of whiners. So rude that we complained to the manager. The manager remedied the situation by offering us reserved chairs and an umbrella on the beach the next day. It was an easy and polite fix, but the behavior of one nasty Hawaiian left a bad taste in our mouths for sure.

In general, we found the staff to be largely unfriendly Hawaiians that seem to despise visitors. The staff at the Tropics Bar & Grill were slow and unfriendly on each of our 3 visits. The folks at the pool bar were better.

In general, although the room was nice enough, there was not enough allure here to get me to go back. Having stayed at the Moana Surfrider before, I'd pick it over the Hilton (comparable in price) every time. Check around before committing to this city within a hotel, as it is devoid of any personalized attention, charm or aloha spirit.

Sharks come in several varieties, some swim in the water and other look for victims on the land especially when it comes to restaurants. This restaurant certainly does not enter in to these categories. After you leave the lobby of the hotel heading for the beach, walk to the left by the Turtle exhibit. Just before you get to the beach this restaurant is on the left.
As soon as you approach the reservation desk you are faced with smiles from every staff member you talk with. If they are busy they give you a buzzer and show you a very pleasant lounge area to wait your turn. The wait is absolutely worth it and on most days you can pretty well get the table you want if you go early.
The menu has lots to offer and regardless of what you choose you will not be disappointed. Whether you are looking for a cold drink of water or a Hawaiian drink the service is the same. Smiles’ all the way and the food is absolutely the best that you will find at Waikiki.
When you go back the staff actually remembers you and the greeting is much more personal. I would suggest that if you are going to Waikiki be sure not to miss this experience of excellence.

Everything was a hassle at this resort. For example, when my husband and I decided to self-park instead of valet park it was a big drawn out procedure that took almost an hour (considering the fact that the valets had lost other person's car while we were there did not make me want to continue with valet). The concierges did not seem to know anything or gave conflicting advise, for example, my brother asked if there was a hot tub/spa at any of the pools, the concierge said "no, we don't have those in Hawaii", turns out there were three of them, or when I asked if a post office was close by and they didn't know if there was one; again, there is one on the property. Some workers at the hotel were very nice, but we often encountered difficulty with hotel staff especially when they were enforcing seemingly needless rules, for example making my wheelchair-bound mother switch tables outside of the CJ's Deli and RoundTable Pizza because two people were eating pizza and only one was eating food from the deli. We also decided that we preferred to take our bags to the room ourself after seeing the chaos of the bellhops, but when I asked if I could use a luggage cart, I was told absolutely not, despite the fact that there were six of them just sitting there not in use. I would like to see them enforce rules that are posted but never followed (such as no children under age 5 in the hot tub).

In general, there were a lot of features that I expected to have at a resort that were just not there or were problematic, examples include no drink or food service at pools, very few bathrooms near the pools or beach, no internet included with the price of the room (you must pay for WiFi or Ethernet), difficulty calling between rooms at the hotel, hassel of getting towels even with towel cards, towel service closing at the pool before the pool closed, no chairs (only loungers) at the pool, I could go on but I'm limited to only 200 characters. In all, I would have serious reservations about staying at another Hilton resort. The only plus I have is that our room was very nice and comfortable, other than that I was disappointed.

I understand that January is a busy time of year for Waikiki, but I have been there 4 times in January in the past 10 years (at different hotels) and have never experienced such chaos.

I'm a regular Hilton traveler... Upon arriving treated quite well by Hilton Honors representative Donna. She upgraded us to the Rainbow Tower with a spectacular beach view. Room was quite spacious, nicely appointed, and very comfortable beds. The hotel is situated on the south side of where the action is, but close walking distance to the main areas of Waikiki shops, restaurants, and other hotels. Though there are Seven hotel towers in the Village, you won't feel lost in a crowd. Clean grounds, well manicured, nightly music pool side, we were quite pleased. The Luau on the other hand was disappointing for the money. $106 each. There was a threat of rain so the event was moved from a rooftop area, to a conference room with no ambiance. we felt like we were attending a conference. One chance to go through the food line, limited desserts, average entertainment. We didnt stay for the entire show, but instead went walking along the main street and enjoyed the variety of people, shops, and street entertainment. Wouldrecommend. All in all the Hilton is a very nice place and location.

No doubt one of Hilton's premier properties. Great location and facilities. Restaurant prices and wine costs were more than we were used too. Thank goodness for the external food locations and the ABC shop. Free WiFi was not available in the room; had to go to a ground floor location (with the many others).

Room Tip: 8th Floor in the Rainbow Tower, in a corner unit. Great view over the lagoon and towards the city V...
