We decided to splurge on our last visit to Oahu and stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Navigating from the front desk to the tower we were staying in was a bit of challenge, as there was some construction going on, however, there were lots of people directing us.

Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the lanai at sunrise & sunset.

Our only disappointment was that we were unable to stay there for our entire trip to Hawaii. Due to lack of availability, we had to change hotels. This was rather disappointing since we were there for 4 nights and would have liked to stay the 5th night.

Food was a bit pricey, but hey, it's a resort...we found more affordable eats across the street at the coffee shop.

All in all it was a good vacation...if we're ever in the mood to splurge, we'd consider staying here again. Considering that the hotel was sold out, it never felt too crowded and we were able to enjoy our stay.

I loved my stay, the room was new and very nice, stayed in the Rainbow Tower. The view was great. I had so much to do at the resort that I did not leave the village for 4 days. The staff was so helpful and yet they were almost invisible , in a good way

I stayed at the beautiful Hilton Waikiki Village on October 26th & 27th. We were in the Aloha tower on the 9th floor. The entire property is beautiful and we loved our ocean view. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and updated. I want to say that they did a great job during the Tsunami warnings. We had gone down to the MAIT'AI cruise a few miles down the beach for a sunset cruise. (So much fun!) Afterwards we went to Duke's for dinner and that is where we heard people start talking about the warnings. It was expected to hit at 10:36 PM. We finished dinner and headed back to the Hilton. By the time we walked back through downtown Waikiki it started sprinkling and just as we entered the Village grounds, the sirens went off. Approximately 30 minutes later the hotel PA system sounded, telling everyone on the 3rd floor and below to evacuate. I assume they got them rooms on higher floors. We did realize that there were no vending machines in the tower we were in. We filled up the bathtub with water and our water bottles in case we lost electricity. We had our TV on and just waited it out. The PA announcements came over a few times until the threat had passed. We ended up sleeping with the balcony open and felt very safe. We were also lucky it turned out to not affect us in Waikiki.
A few lessons learned...always ask for a high floor....and have bottled water and snacks on hand.
Thank you Hilton for keeping us safe and informed.

Room Tip: we had an ocean view on the 9th floor in the Aloha (rainbow) tower. It was excellent!

Having two young kids, the location and "convenience" of this property was key for us. It's located such that you can walk all of Waikiki. There are several restaurants and shopping, including an "ABC" store on the property, which was nice. The beach and pools were super crowded. So if we wanted a good spot, we learned pretty quick that we had to get down there around 8:00am. In fact, I don't think I ever got in any of the pools, as they were so packed with people. We ended up mostly paying $75/day to rent two chairs & an umbrella on the beach, which was equally as crowded by mid-day. People everywhere! Hotel staff was friendly and helpful though. I think they're in the midst of renovations, and we probably stayed in the oldest tower-"Diamond Head". It was clean and it worked, but clearly dated. It was nice that on our last day, they allowed us to have a room for an hour and a half to get cleaned up before heading to the airport. This room was MUCH nicer than what we stayed in for 10 days, which was kind of a letdown. Next time, we'll look for a place that's more secluded like Turtle Cove on the North Shore. Overall, it worked out for our first visit to Hawaii.

Room Tip: Try to stay in any of the towers except "Diamond Head" if possible.

As a popular resort destination, the comments of our guests truly help in shaping the improvements of our services and expansion of our offerings. Complimentary chaise lounge chairs are provided at all of our pools on a first come basis with optional beach rentals offered by a vendor on the beachfront. In addition, we are anxiously anticipating the reopening of our renovated Tapa pool that will be sure to bring additional pool space and amenities. Easy cab ride from the airport. Costs about $35. Checked in at 10 pm, was fast, friendly and they were very helpful. Bought 1 night, used points for a 2nd, and the 3rd was a Hilton Certificate i had earned, so I had 3 confirmation numbers. They were able to accomodate me in the same room, didn't have to move. Stayed in the Rainbow Tower on the 22nd floor. My room overlooked the lagoo and the marina. Next time I would like the other side of the building where you overlook the pool and Diamond Head. Room was very clean, and comfortable. I enjoyed the beach and pool. Lots of construction going on while I was there, but it never disturbed me. Had access to the VIP lounge on the first floor of the Rainbow Tower. No hot food for breakfast in the lounge, but was adequate. I look forward to getting to stay here again.

Room Tip: i enjoy the views from the higher floors, but you have to deal with elevator delays

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon.
When checking in, they were trying to find us a room in the 'Rainbow' building, but only had a double room. There was a queen available, but it was in the building that was being renovated at the time.
We didnt want to be near renovations (as I believe they make a lot of noise and start early), we ended up taking the double room. I forgot how small double beds were, so we had a bed each for our honeymoon... Thanks Hilton.

We had room 7002, the room was nice and clean, pretty much at the end of the hall way, looking out over the lagoon.

Unlike our super cheap hotel room in NYC, the Hilton does not supply free internet, local phones calls, or breakfast.
I did manage to get some wifi on the balcony from somewhere. It was unreliable, but free!
Room service also didnt come on our 2nd last day, had to dry with a hand towel...

The location is good. But the hotel is set up as the name suggests, like a Village. Its clearly been built in such a way they dont want you to leave. You have shops, restaurants, Star Bucks, etc etc.... And its kind of tricky to find your way to the main street, maybe another way they keep you in the village...

The beach area was nice, we did a surf lesson from the tent on the Hiltons beach area, the instructor was very good! $90 gets you a 2 hour lesson. Best going early in the day so you are part of a smaller group...
Also the snorkelling with the Turtle which runs out of the Hilton Beach area was good!

Pro's:
Good location
Nice beach area
Nice rooms

Con's:
Village designed to keep you from leaving.
No free wifi / Expensive Wifi ($16per day / $60 for 5 days)

If you not into swimming, stay at the 'Hawaiian Prince Hotel' which is practically next door on the marina.

If you wanna drop some money for a nice hotel and pay for extra's, stay here. I would think this hotel is good for families, as parents can ditch there kids on one of the programs...

We are Hilton Honors Members, and this was the worst check-in experience I've experienced.
Donna checked us in, my husband was parking the car, she would not check us in until she had his ID. We have the same last name?
Be sure they give you the card to pick up beach towels, or you will be standing in line again at the front desk for them....
Pools are small and full of kids. We found a small pool by the spa, Kalia Tower. It's quite and has a small jacuzzi. No bar in this area.
Stayed in Rainbow tower, water front rooms look out at the marina.

Room Tip: Don't take 2920, next to elevator shaft!
