Aston Waikiki Sunset

Awesome staff from the Manager to housekeeping. Ms. Penny and her staff went out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay. From the front desk, parking attendants, house keeping as well as security all were very helpful and attentive to ensure I had the best experience in their hotel. The rooms were checks by supervisors for cleanliness. The room had everything that was needed to be able to prepare your own meal and or snack. The entire stay was very pleasant. Thank you for taking pride and ownership of the hotel. Mahalo!

Room Tip: As far as I'm consern any room will be great however, the room I was in had a beautiful view of...

For the past few years we have stayed at the Aston Waikiki Sunset for a few weeks each November. This past November was another great holiday relaxing in Waikiki, and of course we stayed at the Aston Waikiki Sunset again. We invited our son and his family to join us in 2012 at the Aston Waikiki Sunset; they had their own suite a couple floors lower than our suite, but we were both up high facing Waikiki Beach. The view was south facing, panoramic, and gorgeous from both suites. This was our son's first trip to Waikiki and they agreed with our rave reviews of the Aston Waikiki Sunset. When they opened their suite door they were greeted with a large, bright modern suite, a full kitchen, modern bathroom, a large bedroom with a full king size bed, and a lanai with seating for four.

This hotel is a great place to stay in Waikiki; great staff, a short walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping, bus stops, zoo, grocery stores, and all the other amenities are all close

Highly recommended for couples and families.

I found the aston sunset to be clean and within walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach. It`s nothing fancy, but very decent. We arrived about 8.30am after an early flight into honolulu. Be prepared to wait until check in (3pm) before being able to get into a room though. We were able to check in all our bags while we waited for our room to be ready. The reception was always quite busy and we sometimes had to wait a while be to be served. Check in took a while too. But the staff were nice and apologetic about the wait(s). The bellman also had some great tips for where to eat in waikiki.

There was some renovations going on, and sometimes a worker would be on a scaffold outside my room but this didn't really bother me (as it was during the day, not while I was asleep as that would have ben a bit creepy obviously). So all in all it was a nice introduction to Waikiki.

We choose this property at the cheaper end of Waikiki accommodation so had every expectation that it would be older, and undergoing renovation. For example you could not open the balcony windows during the day.

We were pleasantly surprised to find it very clean and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. There was plenty of space for a family of 5 in a one bed apartment, the parking was reasonable at $15/day and it was an easy walk to the main part of Waikiki.

The one annoyance was that they only have one person to carry bags, so at busy times you could wait a very long time.

My wife and I are back again and are having a great time again..We feel so at home here and people here are so great and very helpful when ever you need assistance..Again we are back home with our second family as everyone remembers who we are and we get a great greeting from everyone here..The Sunset is a great place to stay and very close to everything you need. The bus stop is only a half block away and you can get a bus to almost anywhere..When using the bus make sure you ask for a transfer slip which gives you a return trip without paying again. There is a help desk in the lobby that can help you with trips shows and rental car's..The rooms are very clean and have everything you need to be comfortable..There is a pool, tennis courts and sauna to relax in also there is a grilling area near the pool to grill your food on.. So if your looking for a great place to stay with excellent people to help this is the place to go so come on IN..

Room Tip: The higher you go the better the view either mountain view or ocean view both are great views

We stayed here with our teenage sons. We found it really central to everything, most tour buses stopped here to pick us up or just a couple of hotels away which was really handy. It was also very close the trolley stops. The room could have been a little bit bigger but it didn't really matter as we were out most of the time, we just had to put up with our suit cases in the lounge. I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We didn't use the pool as we were only a couple of blocks away from the beach for swimming and snorkelling. Rooms were tidy and we had clean towels etc every day.

After a 10 hour overnight flight with no sleep, suffering from a sore throat and a headache, then trying to come to grips with driving on the opposite side of the road, I was very thankful to the lady at reception who found us an available room 3-4 hours before our check-in time. After a shower and a couple of hours sleep in the middle of the day I was all set for a great stay at Waikiki. The Aston Sunset is the perfect place to stay for a young family. It is close to the beach, restaurants and is handy when renting a car as the hotel is conveniently located so that you can drive to any place on the island with ease. The room was very clean, modern and had a good view of the ocean. My wife really loved this hotel as the hotel store was well-stocked and lend beach towels for free which took the hassle out of trying to get our own larger towels dry all the time. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and a 10-15 minute walk to the hub of activity in Waikiki. We found this perfect for us though, as we could walk off the extra calories after dinner and retire for the night in a quiet location. There were renovations being undertaken during our stay but it doesn't affect you at all when you are out and about during the day.
I was very impressed with the staff at this hotel. We received a call when we got back to the room one day informing us that the cleaner had noticed that we had left the door of our safe open and that one of the reception staff had come up to our room to lock it for us. We had our passports and a laptop computer in the safe so it was very re-assuring to us to know that we were staying at a hotel with honest and professional staff. We have recommended this place to friends who have booked 3 rooms for this June and we will most definitely be staying here again in the future.
