Such a lovely hotel, pleasant staff, clean rooms, located directly across from Waikiki Beach. Clean towels and bed made daily. Newspaper delivered to the door daily. Loved our stay. The restaurant downstairs always had a long line of customers waiting, so we never got to try it. McDonalds is next door, quick and easy breakfast there. Sunday night there was a hula show on the beach, lovely to watch. Plenty of activities on the beach.

Room Tip: we had a room at the side but because of the high winds, we couldn't use the patio. Not sure if...

You can't go wrong staying here. Like most other reviews said; the check in desk is in the open, the rooms are small, and it can get noisy. However, if you do your research ahead of time, you are aware of all of this. The check in desk was safe. If you are out exploring Oahu, then who cares how small the room is. The noise isn't as bad as some people make it seem.

We chose an oceanfront room and the view couldn't be beat. Laying in bed staring at the ocean from the room was amazing! If you want to pay twice as much to be on the 45th floor of some resort, then go ahead and do it, but with this hotel anything above the 8th floor your view will be amazing.

Beds were definitely soft, but comfortable overall. Bathrooms are small, but offer the basic amenities; toilet, shower, etc. Decor looked to be updated recently and the room smelled fine. The balconies don't really offer much privacy. The room offers a safe, work desk, closet with sufficient storage, taking into account the size of the room. The staff was friendly and the housekeeping always had our room ready early. Best part of the hotel was the location; it can not be beat!

The breakfast spot on the ground floor was non-stop busy. A lot of complaints about not having a pool. My response = you're in Hawaii! Waikiki is right across the street, who needs a pool?!?!

As many other posters have said, the location of this hotel cannot be beat. I had been to Waikiki before, and knew this older hotel is in a primo spot. I'm also drawn to kitschy places and liked it's unique architecture. I really wanted a true ocean front room, and after shopping around, this seemed like the best value. I reserved online and requested a "great room". At check in, the staff was fantastic. I I was given room 504. I was very pleased as it was high enough up to enjoy a great view, but low enough on the fifth floor for good people watching in ever bustling Waikiki. Almost the entire ocean front side of the room was glass. You could literally lay in bed, and gaze at the beautiful Pacific. However, the giant blind did a good job of keeping most of the light out for sleeping. The room itself was clean and obviously recently updated in a nice bright modern island motif. The only negatives were, as others have stated, the bed is very soft. However, I did not wake up with a backache like some previous experiences with soft beds. Also, there was no option for a single King or Queen, only 2 doubles - not ideal for couples like us. My only other comment is that if you're sensitive to noise, both the AC and the avenue were pretty noisy. I usually sleep with a fan or other ambient noise, so it wasn't an issue for me.

Stayed at this hotel prior to our cruise. As most reviews have indicated the rooms were abit small but given the age this is understandable. The upside is the great location across from the beach and of course the spectacular views from the partial ocean view room.If you are staying at this hotel for longer the than one night go for a full or partial view it is well worth the little extra. The rooms are well equipped for 2-3 people.Check in and check out was a breeze. The activity and excursion desk in the lobby area was a bonus and manned by very helpful people(thanks for your help Angel)

Room Tip: Choose a room with a partial or full ocean view on a higher floor.

Definitily the best hotel location in Waikiki, just across from the beautiful Waikiki beach. The parcial ocean view room has a great view of the beach The room is ok, it is very clean, there are microwave, mini fridge, chairs at the balcony but the Bathroom is too small, specially the box
