Just returned back and overall the hotel was nice. Just as the other reviewers said, its located directed across from the beach and in the middle of endless shopping and tasty restaurants. One thing about the beach that I haven't read anyone mention is the issue on homeless individuals hanging out in the area. Don't be alarmed they are harmless for the most part, but it's very unfortunate to see so many of them at night camped out on the beach and sidewalks.

The rooms are newly renovated, but the only issue I had was the shower. The bathroom is a little small but my main issue was that the shower doesn't give you much space to really move around without touching the walls or shower curtain (ewww) because the shower head was too large for the overall shower. My husband is 6'3 and he was cramped. The shower head was so huge that the water would splash on the floor and cause a puddle to lead to the bedroom. I literally had to place towels at the edge of the shower just to keep the water from going everywhere. The overall design of the shower was not thought out properly during renovation. Other than the shower issue..the room was fine. I mentioned the issue to management and they said they would take care of it which I hope they did. I will try to upload the footage we took of the shower. The bed was average. If you need a firm bed then this hotel may not be a good choice because the bed has a soft cushion. The rooms only offer a fridge, no microwave, so don't plan on reheating any food that you may take back to the room. The balcony is really nice anytime of the day you want to catch a cool Hawaiian breeze and NOTE: you will also make new friends from neighboring vacationers from the surrounding hotels who are also hanging out on their balcony's, so you are never really alone out there. The wifi connection is slow especially for the 15 per day service charge. The staff was very attentive and polite. The hotel also offers a 10percent discount for the Eggs n Things Restaurant which is located directly on the property. The food there was okay. If you plan to park your vehicle, there is an additional 15 per day to park and spaces are limited, so plan accordingly.

We booked this hotel as a quick stopover and ended up staying for four nights. It is located at the end of the 'Las Vegas Strip' of Waikiki and just a fabulous location. We arrived late on a flight from Anchorage and were given a room..ocean front..on the third floor. There were air conditioning units under the balcony that were pretty noisy. The next day, we asked if we could upgrade to a higher floor... they gave us a beautiful room on the 10th floor...facing the ocean and WOW... we are enjoying a wonderful part of Waikiki and O'ahu. Having been to the islands many times and when we are on this island, we always stay at the North End.
Can't say enough about the great staff here. Rooms are very simple, but very clean and very comfortable. Balcony is wonderful... air conditioning is good. Bathrooms are small but the show heads are placed high and good water pressure. If you are given an 'Ocean View' room, it will be an excellent view. Some local people told us to walk up to the next block and catch the #2 bus to Chinatown, the Art Galleriies, the State Capitol buildings, Iolonie Palace, the original Missionaries homes and the Aloha Tower. We will stay here again!!

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to an Ocean Front room.. an extra $20 or $30 a night is worth it.. Eat in the ca...

On my review last year I gave this hotel 5 stars. They delivered on what they promised.

This year they have added wifi and dvds. (To go with the $15 per night service charge) The in room wifi was slow at best, much of the time it was worth connecting to one of the free hot spots in range.

The DVD player which is a PS2 played roughly half the movies that we tried to watch from the hotels free rental seservice. this was even after the PS2 was replaced by maintenance. The a/c was extremely loud in this room as was the howling wind through the corridors. Especially when the cleaned was on the floor and had propped the fire door open.

Whilst I'd still recommend based soley on location I'd also say it may be best to consider other options.

Our first impressions of this hotel was not a good one. The front desk on arrival was not very polite and was quite rude. We could not get into our room, but he did offer to store our bags, but gave us no map of the local area or any suggestions on where we could have breakfast, so after a 17 hour journey we just walked and walked and eventually was so tired thought we would head back to the hotel and try and check in, yes they had a room ready. I knew that check in was not until 3pm, but had spefically emailed them prior to our arrival to ask if we could have an early check in, as we were also departing early, and was told they would try their best, this guy on front desk on our arrival did not even ask for our name, just said "check in not until 3pm"!!!!!
Our overall stay was fine and when we got to our room, after checking in, our stay was plesant. Every other staff member or front desk was quire helpful after our arrival experience. Yes the rooms are quite small, but hey Honolulu has so much to offer that it did not matter to us at all. The rooms were clean the only thing is that we had a partical ocean view room, but directly out our window we were facing into another hotel and the parking of a hotel behind, I would recommend a full ocean view room, as when we also went to sit on the balcony it was like a wind tunnel and too windy to sit out there which was a shame.
Would we stay here again, possibly, location perfect!!!!!

Room Tip: Full ocean view room

So glad I booked this hotel. It was right across from the beach. Views from my ocean view room were amazing! Some of the reviews on here I'm not understanding. This is not a 4/5 star hotel people. But it was clean and I was barely in my room. So why complain about it being small? My room had 2 double beds. Not small at all. Only complaint I would have was the shower head. Strange that it was facing out and not facing the wall. I got wet the first time I used it, as I didn't realise the shower curtain should be closed when turning the water on! Would have been nice if the staff informed me of this one flaw.

We stayed here for four nights at the start of our honeymoon, and while the rooms are basic enough the location is perfect. We were charged a $15 daily amenity fee (not optional) which included wifi. The wifi was great because we could contact family back home, but it was painfully slow. The amenity fee also included use of the DVD rental system in the lobby - but most of the DVD's were too scratched to even play.

The location definitely outweighed these negatives though and if we were to return to Waikiki we would probably stay again.

Ok so it might not look much from the roadside but this little hotel is fantastic and so centrally located. The rooms might be on the small side but are tastefully done - right down to sea themes on the buttons for the curtains. The staff are friendly and helpful and the views from the ocean front balconies are awesome. They know their stuff with cab companies and activities too. Loved our three days here.
