“Excellent location”
Reviewed January 31, 2012

Excellent location just across from Waikiki Beach, very convenient for everything, just a few steps to MacDonald, money saving for breakfast. ABC stores nearby. Trolley bus stop across the street, a couple blocks away for bus stop going to Diamond Head, Zoo. Walking distance to Food Pantry for grocery, fruits, salads, sandwiches etc.
Staying at the beautiful ocean front room was a wonderful thing. Room & bathroom are small but it has everything, sitting at the balony with such a great beach view, watching beautiful sunset. You just love it.
You won't mind to pay for more for the ocean front room, it's worth it. It's even better going for higher floor if it's available.
There is a restaurant "Eggs & things" at the hotel, Crepe is excellent. Long line up each morning. I ordered take out, ate at the room balony, enjoying the great beach view.
Overall, I love this little hotel, sure will come back next time in Waikiki.

Room Tip: Ocean front room or ocean view. Don't pick City View room beacuse of saving $

Excellent hotel for the money. The location cannot be beaten, right acroos the street from the beach.
The hotel is super ok.The trouble is with the resort itself:
1.Too many homeless and too many beggars on the streets, especially within Waikiki beach area
2.Too many homosexual couples on the beach;I have a feeling this resort is a hub for them.I wasn't very comfortable, especially when you travel with kids and family, you feel kinda funny to see all those male lovers with their bikini and all that...Yak!I know is afree country, but still...

I booked this hotel 9 months ahead so I got it on cheap rate though we were given a parking lot view with partial ocean view I still think its value for money considering its just in front of Waikiki beach.it is located on a shopping strip of Kalakaua Avenue , McDonald is just steps from doorstep where you can access wi fi and Eggs and things restaurant located in the lobby where you need to be very early to avoid long queue. There are 2 available computer on lobby for fee ,free online check in is available and you only pay for printing.Staff are helpful and rooms are cleaned everyday.it is manned 24 hours so checkout is not a problem.this Hotel is by far value for money, there is no amenities which is okay because we are out most of the time and we use the room mainly for snoozing...

I have stayed at this hotel 15 times over the last 8 years - and will keep coming back. Staff are friendly and helpful (and the majority are the same staff which does say something). Rooms have now been remodelled and have coffee makers and larger fridges which is good. New beds and decor and really nicely tiled bathroom (although still small). Easy walk to everything - zoo - aquarium - international market place etc. Free towels for the beach - which is across the street - what more could you want. The wired internet access was fast

Room Tip: higher floor for less street noise.

This hotel has been our "home" for 4-5 times....1st trip since the remodel & its really cute.......people must remember this hotel is round & the small rooms are pie shaped, coffee is now in the rooms & the ice is still at check-in desk, the size is not a issue for our family, as we didn't go to Honolulu to stay in the room, this hotel is directly across the street from the beach, if you can afford it get the partical Ocean view or better....it will be money well spent....they have sand buckets in the room for kids & they have "freeby" borrow water toys .....they have a large number of places to eat very close by....the restaurant Egg's & things is in the same building....they have rather high prices, & also have long lines, so the food must be good, you have a McDonalds next door & Cheesburger in Paradise a few feet away, & Starbucks a few blocks away, McDonald & Starbucks have free WiFi ..........

Our way of thinking is get the reasonable hotel with the best value & the best view & location in Waikiki .....& save your $$$ for the souviners .........all major trollys stop a few feet away on the beach by the Duke statue.....this hotel also has the police station just steps away.

The only negative is about this hotel...is the parking.....there are 21 or so spaces....these spaces are just under $16 with taxes.....OR you can park at the Waikiki Banyon 4-5 blocks away for $10 a day or $60 wk, you can check each morning to see if there will be a opening at the hotel to park.

A BIG ALOHA....to Jan at the front desk...greatest Employee for the "Aston family"

Room Tip: city buses run 1 block behind hotel.....book the highest floor they have, to cut down on road/traffi...

We stayed in this hotel in July 2011 as a family of 4. The rooms are TINY but very clean and furniture that fits well in the space. We enjoyed our balcony looking over Waikiki beach. Parking can be a bit of an issue, but if there are no spaces left the hotel will allow you to park at a sister hotel about 3 blocks away. Great location for the price.

Perfect location, best at Waikiki!

The design (new but "1962"-style), belive me, Simon&Thomas will go bananas! Excellent.

Our sunny, wonderful room, so beautiful, always so clean (the hole hotel was, even at Christmas day!) with flat-TV, newspaper every morning at the door, large comfortable beds, swimmingtowels at the reception.....I´ll loved it.....

And the cool, unstressed people in the reception, with humor and always so nice to talk with! They really love their hotel, very nice to notice.

Will come back! Soon!
