This was a wonderful place to stay on Waikiki. It is at the end of the strip of hotels, but the beach access across the street was fabulous... not too crowded like by the Outrigger & Sheraton. The "Breakfast on the Beach" was perfect for our family, you could choose from cereal, donuts, muffins, fresh fruit, juices, milk. It was a great way to start the day off and we saved some money. There is a Subway and Wolfgang Puck Express downstairs, which we also ate at many times. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a junior suite with a view of the ocean/strip. The elevator system was great, you don't have to stop at every floor. Also, the Pleasant Holidays staff was very helpful making all of our excursion plans on the island. The only downside was that the pool water was cool. The ocean was warmer. But overall we will definitely stay here again when we return to Oahu!

After booking this hotel as a surprise for my husband's birthday, I was delighted to hear that we would get an upgrade from standard room, if available, because of our age, 60.
We arrived about 7.30ish in the evening, and were given room on 20th floor, when we looked out, it was into another hotel, which in the morning, we discovered, compleatly blocked our view, however, if we looked sideways we could see Waikiki beach. to say we were disopointed is an understatement!
So we decided on an upgrade, which cost us an extra $60 a night, and for 13 nights, it wasn't cheap... and were lucky enough to get a wonderful oceanfront room, we also thought it might include the free "breakfast on the beach" that is so widely advertised, alas, it did not .
Our room was tidied every day, but bed linen was not changed, and cleaning was done at random times, some mornings around 8am other days as late as 4pm, which we found irratating, because we tried to be out of the cleaners way when she came around, only sometimes we arrived back to find she hadn't been in yet.
This probably looks like we didn't enjoy our stay in the Aston, but these points are just minor things, the room itself was lovely, beds very comfy, they could make a huge differance if they added a Tea/Coffee maker. Staff very nice and helpful. As we travelled from Ireland, ( 23 hour) we most likely wont be back again, but if we could, I would most deffinatly go back to the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, as we had a holiday to remember, and the most beautiful scenary we could ever wish to see.

this was a great choice of hotel. The room was a little bigger that I first thought. The bathroom could use a remodel but was fine. We were on the 23rd floor and could see Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. It was an amazing view. The breakfast was good but after a couple of days we were all hanging for toast being Aussies. The staff were terrific and nothing was a trouble. This was a perfect location as it was exactly as the brochure said 35 steps to the beach. Didn't have to go to far for resturants or a lite meal. Lots of ABC stores for all those little things you needed. The only thing I would have liked was a laundry on site as there was nowhere to wash. Hated doing lots of hand washing. Overall we were never in our room as there is too much to do through the day. If the teenagers wanted to go to the room for something that just had to cross the road. i would go back in a heartbeat. Well done to the hotel!!!

We stayed for 5 nights in an Oceanfront room on the 17th floor. The view was terrific. The room was not as small as I was expecting after reading this site before leaving. It had as much space as the sheraton waikiki which we also stayed at on this trip but for much less money. I loved the decor of the place very bright and fresh with a tropical surf theme. Our room had been freshly painted and the bathroom was spotless. The street was a little noisy at night but id expect that at any tourist town.
The pool was adequate for the kids to have a dip in at the end of the day and the beach is right over the road.
I loved the convenience of shop[s right underneath for take aways.
The staff were very helpful and accomodating of our every request. Location was good at the end of the strip and beach right accross the road. If you dont like walking though opt for somehere more central. We enjoyed walking off dinner at the end of the night. Breakfast was a nice touch very casual, get your own and take it back to the balcony or breaky in bed. Or stay and listen to the local entertainment provided. Overall a great stay and we will definatly return to this hotel.

Stayed here with 3 other girlfriends. We booked the Junior suite which was roomy & just perfect for our last 3 days on the island. The room had a beautiful view of Diamond Head & Waikiki Beach - just lovely to wake up to! Decor was warm & pretty. The bathroom could do with a re-vamp but we were hardly at the hotel anyway. Internet was available downstairs in the lobby at a small hourly rate - we used this alot! There was a lovely pool & sunbathing area with refreshments to purchase nearby.

My favourite was the free breakfast in the mornings. You get a little cooler bag to fill up with yoghurt, pastries, muffins, fruit, cereal etc They also have Japanese-style food like rice, miso etc. You take the cooler bag out & eat on the beach OR eat it there as they play lovely Hawaiian live music by the hotel pool with a hula girl dancing to the tunes. Best holiday ever!
