The hotel has a free breakfast every morning with Hawian entertainment. It's a very nice hotel and staff. It is right across from the beach. I would reccomened this hotel to my family and friends. It is a little expensive but so are all the hotels in Waikiki.

Thank you for the review, Jeff. Our daily continental breakfast is our signature amenity, and made extra special with the company of our beautiful hula dancer and talented guitarist. We look forward to welcoming you and your family again in the future. Mahalo, Rebecca; Guest Services Coordinator

We took a very last-minute trip to Honolulu over Labor Day weekend. We found a great deal with AWB through Expedia. At first, I was hesitant to book with AWB because I read reviews that said the hotel was very outdated and dirty. I agree that the hotel rooms can do with refurbishment- esp the bathrooms- but the overall hotel premises were very well kept and we saw employees constantly cleaning, dusting, and picking up after guests.

PROS:
1. GREAT location & amazing balcony views
2. All the employees were so helpful and nice
3. Free breakfast (although, it would be nice to have a little bit of variety every few days- but this is being nitpicky. lol)
4. Free beach chairs (as long as you bring it back before 6pm)
5. Kid friendly pool

CONS:
1. Rooms need some refurbishment, esp the bathrooms. Our toilet leaked whenever we would flush. The bathtubs were very slow to drain (important when you have little kids)
2. Rooms were on the small side. Even with just two normal-sized suitcases and a fold-up umbrella stroller, we had no room to really walk around.
3. Beach towels & beach chairs must be returned by 6pm; otherwise, you get charged a fee. I get that they need to take inventory, but sundown wasn't until past 7pm. Our child still wanted to swim in the ocean and play on the beach, but because of the towel rule, we had to scamper back to the hotel by 6pm. Inconvenient.

Overall, I would rate this property as 3.5 stars. Despite the cons, my family & I would definitely return.

Aloha, and thank you for sharing your review and photos. A last minute trip to Hawaii is always fun, and we're pleased to see your family found value at our hotel. We ask that the beach towels be returned by 7pm so they can be laundered and ready for the next morning. We also ask that the beach chairs be returned by 7pm. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Sincerely,
Rebecca

we got put into a double bed room requested to be king size bed. Also, we paid for ocean view and we got a back yard view instead. we walked into our room, washroom light didnt want to turn on. This is more like a 1 star hotel not 4.5 stars hotel when i did research before booking. Terrible experience. It probably be our last time staying at any aston hotel.

Aloha Tuyen, we are sorry to learn about your disappointment. Feel free to contact me at res.wow@astonhotels.com att: Rebecca. I will be happy to double check to make sure you received the correct view that was reserved. We make our reservations based on view category; therefore you should have received an Ocean View room if that is what you reserved. Our main categories are Ocean Front, Ocean View, Partial Ocean View, and Standard. Also, we are sorry that we are unable to guarantee bedding requests. We do our best to accommodate the bedding preferences, but it is not always possible.

Check in was long.
As mentioned previously by others the hotel does need a revamp but our room was very clean.
The breakfast is ok for a few days but after 5 days all I was longing for a piece of toast!
I would have liked tea making facilities in my room.
Location was the quieter end of the strip and a fair walk to the popular restaurants and shops. We would probably prefer to stay at the busier end as we have done previously.

Aloha Suzie,
We are currently preparing for a room refresh project. Upon completion our rooms will have a newer and more modernized feel. We are also considering adding coffee/ tea makers. Thank you for staying with us, and for the review.

Loved the decor of the hotel and the location for the time that we stayed in Waikiki. The room was clean, wifi worked fine and the beach was right there. The "free" breakfast was a celebration of carbohydrates and sugar (and most likely sweeteners) unless you paid extra for some eggs. Kona coffee was a plus. The staff that we met at the front desk were generally helpful but just be aware that they might not know everything ref. hotel policy. We called from the room to ask if all the local calls were free and got the answer "Yes.". When the payment time came we found out that the local calls we'd made were charged. I.e. conflicting information from the staff vs. the information written on the phone. Would like to extend an extra thanks to the cleaning staff that greeted us with great "aloha" every morning we left the room. :-) Still puts a smile on my face.

Hotel valet parking is expensive. Would recommend to look into other parking facilities just around the corner for almost half priced options.

Aloha, the local and toll free calls are free. All of the Hawaiian Islands use the same area code- 808. However, a local call is when you call a phone number that is located on the same island. All though we share the same area code, a charge will incur for calls placed to the outer islands. Perhaps this is what happened in your situation?
Thank you for the review and for staying with us. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

Overall this was a wonderful hotel to stay at. You get breakfast, wifi, unlimited movies everyday for an extra $18. Parking costs around $27 a day as well. With parking you can take it in and out as much as you wish.

The great thing about this hotel is the treats they give you in the room. It's free and they are delicious. The room is also very comfortable with an i player and a wonderful view!!! We stayed on the 24th floor - the 25th floor is the last floor. The elevator is interesting you swipe your card, type in your room number and it directs you to the elevator to hop in and it takes you directly there.

One thing that I found a little disappointing was the breakfast. They do a wonderful job of offering a cooler and encouraging you to have breakfast on the beach - but they do this as the breakfast area has very limited seating. Also the breakfast is very unhealthy. You are only offered cereal, pastries, fruit and drinks (juice, tea, coffee etc.) and you have to put it in the cooler you are given in your room. There is no tray so if you decide to eat around the pool (with the limited seating); it's a balancing act. The added annoyance is that you are only allowed to go and get breakfast once. If you want to have anything more you are welcome to omlettes and french toast - but they are an extra $5 each. Overall expect to pay a lot in Hawaii - everything costs something.

The beach is just across the road and it is fantastic. The Aston is in a really good spot and you can walk everywhere. It's great!

Room Tip: Ask for high floor with an ocean view.

Aloha DannyKelly, our Select category rooms have some of the best views provided by the hotel. These rooms also include local treats picked by our General Manager. We are currently reviewing how we can improve our breakfast to create more positive guest experiences, and we appreciate your feedback. Mahalo, Rebecca; Guest Services Coordinator
