“a castle on the edge of paradise - so next door to everything in Waikiki it is Waikiki Central!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Wonderful location being just across the road to the beautiful Waikiki beach, just down the road from Honolulu central business district, beside a gorgeous park and one of the best bar and grills on site. What more could you want from a hotel?
The beds wonderfully comfortable
The house service kept them wonderfully clean and tidy
Breakfast by the beach - just pack your provided carry bag and walk the 50 meters.
Tiki Grill and Bar with great wait staff and plenty of live music.

.... and as part of the Vintage World Rugby carnival where probably 500 rugby players and partners stayed everyone did themselves proud with maintaining great service and a wonderful smile with such a boisterous group.

Room Tip: just be careful that you room is not above the Tiki Bar and Grill as they have live music until midn...

Was a bit worried driving up but shouldn't have been. Our initial room wasn't that great but they changed it after asking, though did hear some people saying they weren't that lucky in changing or had to pay extra for an ocean view. Fantastic position directly across from beach, best bed ever slept in, excellent powerfull shower, really clean and tidy. Breakfast was repetitive but so is everywhere else and loads of take-aways nearby should you choose, great idea of the cool bag and help yourself , and then they give you towels and chairs to take to the beach what more could you ask for.
We paid the extra $10 per day and for this had free wifi, unlimited dvd rental, gym use, newspaper and free local calls.
If I had a gripe it would have been the queue to check in, and on the last day we requested a later checkout, they asked us to keep coming back to see if they could accomodate and then it was an extra couple of hours before they could get a room ready, cost to do this was $70 up to 6pm, which suited us. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Pay extra and ask for ocean view, take higher room can be bit noisy near pool area.

Aloha and thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are sorry that your initial room did not meet your standards. However, we are happy to learn that the problem was fixed to your satisfaction with a room change. We are also glad that you enjoyed the cooler bag to compliment our ‘Breakfast on the Beach’ and used our complimentary beach towel and beach chair rental. It seems like you had a great Hawaiian vacation and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

My husband and I stayed here while traveling for a research conference. It was a great price and the perfect location, right across the street from the beach. My favorite things included: the outdoor bar with live music, the fresh breakfast with lots of variety, the view, the friendly staff, and the price. My only complaint would be the small size of the room, but really do you go to Hawaii to spend time in your room?! Overall it was a great trip thanks to our choice of hotel.

Room Tip: Choose the full ocean view

Me and my new Wife stayed at the aston hotel during our honeymoon 16/09 - 26/09 and could not fault the hotel one bit.

We stayed in one of the beach front rooms which offered fantastic views of the pacific and great sunsets every evening.

The free breakfast was an absolute bonus and very tasty and varied.

Everything we asked of the hotel was dealt with fast and efficiently with all members of staff with smiles on their faces.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Stayed four nights, nice room though we got two full beds instead of a queen. Don't arrive on weekend, saw looooong lines at check-in. Same breakfast every morning, but lots of other options near location if you want more than a continental meal. Right across from a nice beach for all types - sunbathers, kids, surfers. All in all, no real problems, but nothing outstanding.

Aloha, and thank you for taking time to share your experience of our hotel. The weekend you are referring to was very challenging for our Front Desk staff as we had about a third of our hotel check-out, and another third check- in all in the same afternoon. This much movement is not our typical weekend. Normally, our lines and check-in check-out process is consistent. Mahalo for staying with us and we look forward to welcoming you back!

We found the Aston Waikiki beach a relaxing and comfortable place to stay when we vistited Honolulu.
The staff were amazing and nothing was ever any trouble at all.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and had plenty of space. The view from the Ocean Front room was perfect.
We were originally on the 8th floor above Tkiki's Bar and after two nights of interrupted sleep from noise, we requested to be moved. This request was granted and staff were lovely and helpful when we moved. Our next room was fantastic with no noise.
Breakfast was a nice inclusion. I have read some negative comments on here about seating for breakfast and we never found it a problem.
The only negative I can think of is that the bathrooms are dated and need an upgrade but were clean and practical.
I would recommend this motel to anyone thinking of staying in Honolulu and our kids loved it too.

Room Tip: Higher floors and park side rooms would have less noise.

This was our second stay at the hotel in two years and once again we were not disappointed. This time we booked an ocean front room and the view was well worth the extra money. The room we were given was quite large and the three of us had plenty of room. Check in was a little disappointing in that they did not honour our reservation request of a room on a higher floor but after having a chat with staff they quickly changed the room to the floor we had originally requested. Also had to wait three hours for the room but that time was easily filled in by shopping and visiting the beach. When the room was ready our bags were there waiting for us. The only issue we had when we first got to our room was that the previous occupant had spilled something on the bed which had sprayed onto the wall but upon notifying housekeeping they came to our room literally within two minutes to change the bed and clean up for us. You can't really get better than that! The breakfast in the morning was great with plenty of selections and they provided us with a cooler bag - not sure about the previous comments about a cardboard tray as did not see any evidence of this with other guests. Also not sure why so many people comment about the lifts as they are very easy to use and it is quite a smart system would like to see this system in other lifts as it does save waiting. The valet team were brilliant and always had our car ready and waiting when needed. Wolfgang Puck's again was very handy for dinner not to mention Cold Stone Creamery which we visited probably one time too many! Otherwise very happy with this hotel, the service, the staff and particularly the location which is right across from the beach and a short walk to the shops. We will of course stay here again and again. Thank you Aston Waikiki Hotel for another brilliant stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the higher floors to avoid street noise and music from Tiki's Restaurant.
