We stayed here again this year for a week and it was so good to stay in a familiar place, with Izaac behind the desk to give you all the advise you want, and we just hope that he has his Halloween costume worked out as its getting close and he always has something very different to anything else that you see. We stayed in a one-bedroom unit and it was in a spotlessly maintained condition, again the washer and dryer were a welcome sight after a week in Las Vegas, enabling us time to wash and pack again for Tahiti. Can't wait for our return visit as the staff are always very welcoming and nothing is too much for them
Although the hotel has no pool, you don't need it, its right on Waikiki Beach, with spectacular views and direct access to the beach where you can always hire sun lounges and an umbrella and have it set up as close to the beach as you want. The water was its usual clear and sparkling self however its what is under it that surprises all - its rocks and coral and apparently they must have a a bad storm as it was much worse than normal - so you definitely need to invest in your reef-walkers to protect those tender feet. Of course if you don't want to lay on the sand there is always the beautifully kept grass in the park to lay on... you cannot loose staying in this hotel and there are heaps of places to eat near it.

Room Tip: Always insist on a beach view, otherwise you may end up with a palm tree view

Overall accomodation is in great location and has great views...but....we had had 2 rooms booked for 2 families. One was for 5 which was supposed to have 2 bedrooms to accomodate them for 2 nights. On arrival we told this was not available and they were given 2 one bedroom rooms on the 15th (penthouse) floor. (Penthouse just means top floor though). This was of no comfort when you have 3 young chilren and you have to split your family for your stay. Not happy! But both rooms were renovated and nice if you had a family of 4 or less. I suspect because they were only there for 2 nights, they thought they'd bump them.
The other room was 1108 where our family of 4 stayed for 3 nights. Dont get allocated this room. I thought it looked a bit run down and then I read the visitor book and almost all comments slammed the room. The blinds dont work or are non existant iin the kitchen (ie. get used to early wake ups). Kitchen stove - too risky to use. Dishwasher - parts of the front hanging off. Also all rooms on this floor are equal to the roof height of the building next to it which has all the aircon generators, so the sound travels straight across.

Room Tip: Dont choose 1108. The owners need to renovate it but obviously dont care enough.

We went through Outrigger to get a park view unit so that we could have use of the pool for our daughter at the Outrigger Reef next door. This was worthwhile.

The difficulty booking through Outrigger is that you have to do in-room check-in. We had quite a late night arrival, so waiting for someone to come from another Outrigger property to check us in was not what we needed, but overall the check-in process was OK.

On our first evening (after a long flight) we discovered our toilet was blocked and started flooding the apartment. Not a great start but the hotel staff dealt with it quickly despite the late hour.

The location of the hotel is brilliant - right on Waikiki beach, next to Fort de Russy. Walking distance to everywhere of interest in Waikiki but doesn't feel as seething with people as some parts. Our room was too low (third floor) to have a great view, but we could still see the ocean through the palm trees in Fort de Russy.

The apartments (we had a one bedroom) are spacious. The bedroom isn't truly separate (there's a folding wall which provides some privacy) but the kitchen and bathroom are spacious.

The apartments are of varying standards. Ours was dated but comfortable. The main issue was the air conditioning unit, which appeared to have been manufactured during the second world war and was so loud that it was unusable and meant that getting respite from the heat was difficult (which in turn affected our sleep).

For the price, this is a great beachfront opportunity. Just watch the dated appliances and be prepared to sweat!

Room Tip: Ask for 5th floor or higher to have a sea view.

Rented this studio suite thru MWF Rentals. Our agent was Kai; very professional, caring and true to his word.

Our unit was:

An ocean view/side studio
Full kitchen
King bed
Washer/dryer
IMMACULATE...
Great lanai where we watched gorgeous sunsets and fireworks on Friday night
Close to everything in Waikiki
Very secure
Had a better view than the Trump Tower across the street
Was next to Fort DeRussey Park
AND reasonably priced

Only difficulty is parking as it is everywhere in Waikiki. Our lot was about 8 blocks away but only $5.00 a day (Thank you, Kai)

Very well maintained unit, shower spray broke and was repaired within 2 hours

A great stay in a great location.

Room Tip: Rent from Kai at MWF Starbucks on the first floor Great buffet breakfast next door at the Outrigge...

These apartments are in a great location, but they are so old that you can't wait to leave. Some of the few things included broken tiles to the point that the kids would have cut themselves, fold out bed was like sleeping on springs, the windows and doors were almost unmovable and the air conditioning was so old it almost drowned out the tv.

If you do stay in these apartments, ensure you do not get a room overlooking the street - you will not sleep the noise is constant.

With a little renovation and thicker windows these apartments would be brilliant.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1018 (10 for the level, 18 for the room number) which overlooked the road, try a r...

We have stayed here on many occasions , You have the choice of booking through Castle or Outrigger. If you go through Outrigger the front desk won't help you as they are Castle staff. We have always gone through Castle and have referred many of our friends to this Condo. Was really annoyed this year , we had booked a 5 night stay only to be told we had to stay 1 night in a different unit, then move the next day ! Not helpful to a relaxing stay , can't unpack ,had to check out & then back in. We had taken extra people this time and had booked early and asked for Ocean, we got the front street! It is a great spot but could do with an upgrade, these units are individually owned. We were told no wi fi but we found some !

Room Tip: Ask for high up and towards the ocean !

We stayed 8 nights and although cheaper than the Outrigget next door it was not cheap. We had a park view of the Army Museum Were only on the second floor.

The washer and dryer was a deciding factor as was free wifi- although we did have a hefty nightly charge for an 8 night stay.
Our biggest gripe was the hot water took at least 10 mins to run warm and the television had no instructions and was hard to fathom.
We booked tours with Diamond Vacations situated below us on level 1 and got great service.
We were able to use pool next door but ran out of time
