We stayed at the Waikiki Shore, booking through Castle Resorts, which runs the front desk, and stayed in Unit 812, One Bedroom Suite. The "Oh My Gosh" factor is very high when you see the view from the lanai (balcony) for the first time! Full kitchen, washer/dryer in the unit, twice the space and half the price of a hotel room. Spectacular sunset views every night, plus the best view of the Friday night fireworks. Unit very clean, front desk couldn't be any nicer. Has to be the best value in Waikiki!!!

Stay away from room 205 & 305 - across from the main dish-washing area & maintenance area of neighboring hotel. Very loud until early morning. After mentioning the noise the manager moved us to room 416 which was a VERY NICE room overlooking the park and still able to view the ocean.

The hotel is in a wonderful location for shopping, entertainment and the ocean is steps away. When we visit again we will consider this condo.

Always try to stay for at least 7 nights to enable you to relax. This is the 4th time we have stayed here and look forward to each visit. Book online with Castle Resorts for best deals and friendly (Lelani) onsite assistance. These apartments have full kitchens and internal laundry (washer and dryer). There is paid underground parking. All apartments have north-west views facing Waikiki beach and Fort Derussy park ... don't forget to include a Friday night in your stay to get 'front row seats' to view the fireworks display in front the Hilton Hotel.

Room Tip: Book early online for best deals/discounts

Sunsets are the best while staying at the Waikiki Shore. Every room is spectacular.
The beach is at your feet. Several nights we sat out on the lanai and watched the full moon over the Pacific, as small dingy-boats would be coming and going throughout the night. One night we stayed up all night long, and just watched the moon over the ocean. SO romantic! No neighboring hotels to the west., only a huge park, that is peaceful and quiet at night. Rooms are spacious. Bathrooms are luxurious. Parking available for your car. If you walk out on the dock in front of the hotel, you can see "Sunrise over Diamond Head"... we did that, it was great. This is one place you'll love! Clean.

Room Tip: EVERY room is spectacular! Hear the waves at night, you're right on the ocean!

Aloha,
Thank you very much for your comments on the Castle Resorts Waikiki Shore. It makes all of our continuous efforts well worth it. I will be sharing you comments with our staff. I do hope you have an opportunity to once again visit Hawaii and the Waikiki Shore. When returning remember Castle Resorts manages properties on each Island at which time you will receive the same quality services and care.

Enjoyed our stay on the 12th floor at Outrigger Waikiki Shore. Views are amazing and location outstanding. Rooms are a bit run-down as others have stated although definitely adequate. We had some issues with cable TV and Intenret and Outrigger was very responsive. Use of hotel next door for pool is excellent. No noise issues at all on 12th floor although lower might be an issue. Amazing location and views could use some investment to improve. However, really enjoyed stay.

Room Tip: HIgher floor better - Outrigger seems to have good rooms and service

Stayed for 5 nights. Old Condo building but (1 bedroom) apartment was moderinised and in excellent conditon with large modern TV, video etc. Bathroom could do with modernisation but overall we were extremely pleased with the accomodation. Staying at the "Shore" gives you full use of Outrigger Reef facilities but given it is right on the beach we never used the pool at the Reef.

Honolulu is all about location and you can't do better than this FOR the price. With Derussey park on one side the views to the West are fantastic. Our aoartment was ocean view byt friends had an ocean front with simply thw best available views on Waikiki.

No reception at Shore but telephone ahead (10 minutes) and representative from the Reef is waiting to chaeck you in and take you to room - check out can be done on telephone. Did not use parking but is looked sub-standard.

We booked the Outrigger Shore because we are a family of 5 and wanted more room than a hotel room would provide. Our unit: penthouse 10, was just OK. It was not the cleanest. I think the cleaning crew just comes in after a rental and change the sheets and do a quick vacuuming. The kitchen floor was severely chipped ceramic tiles, the bathroom needs a good bleach cleaning (which I did to feel comfortable letting my kids use) the cabinets in the bathroom are damaged and look terrible. The windows did not open in several rooms, so we could not get good fresh air ventilation. The rugs should be replaced as they are very stained. The elevators are not working properly and they gave us 2 sets of keys...one of which was so bent that you could not use it to open the door. (They tried to charge $85 to replace, but we said forget it!) There is A LOTOF NOISE all day and night....ranging from the pipes rattling when somone runs a shower or washing machine to the bus that stops outside the Army museum next door. (and this was on the 15th floor, thankfully we were not lower or it would be louder!) We lost power several times due to a faulty breaker in the electric panel located in the kitchen closet, thankfully we were able to reset it. The photos on the website definitely do not reflect the condition of this room.
The only good thing about this place is the location. It is right on the beach, and is a quick walk to anywhere in Waikiki. I did not see bed bugs, but when I arrive at any hotel, I looked for their frass on the beds and did not see anythin suspious. If I read the prior review, I would not have stayed there. There are 2 management companies that rent this building: Outrigger and Waikiki Shore rentals. They must hate each other, because the front desk folks (not Outrigger staff) were not helpful when we arrrived. They told us to call Outrigger from a phone in the lobby. It has a lot of potential, but the rooms needs a complete renovation to update the place, it needs a better cleaning staff, new keys and better communication with the renters prior to arriving so that they know what to expect at check in since you cannot check in at the front desk.
