“Excellent service at Reception”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

This was a good centrally located property. Jason at the front desk was the best - so helpful and accommodating. The hotel was great with shortening our booking at relatively short notice due to a family matter at home. Nothing was too much trouble.

The room was a little tired and could do with a makeover, but that aside, was clean and spacious and comfortable. There was not enough hanging space (half the wardrobe was locked for storage) and there should be two bedside tables and lamps. With some deft furniture manouvering we fixed this. The kitchen was adequate for two people, and it was great to come back to for a quick lunch or just have breakfast.

Great location, not in the thick of all the beach hotels, only one block from the beach and close to the zoo and easy walk to diamond head. Overall an easy, good stay.

Room Tip: We had room 3014 in Tower B and it had lots of living space, kitchen, great views and was on a corne...

The BBQ and hot tub deck is superb, our room was great, but could have done with a kettle not just the filter coffee m/c. We were only on 17th floor and had spectacular, slightly interrupted views of Diamond Head.

The big issue for me was the $10/day charge for their WiFi, although we could occasionally piggy back on some random unsecured routers.

We stayed there with an extended family group, fifteen people in four condos (ranging in age from 7 to 75). It was a great choice. Close to the beach but a little way away from the centre of Waikiki's craziness. The kids loved the pool and BBQ area. Our room (3310) was great - it had an ocean view, lots of space, and a great little kitchenette. I'd highly recommend this place for family travellers (especially those with kids)

Room Tip: Higher floor, ocean-facing suites seemed to be nicer and in better repair, generally.

Mahalo for taking the time to provide us with your comments on your recent stay with us. We are glad to hear that you and your families all enjoyed themselves. We do have one of the, if not the largest recreation decks in Waikiki and the only one with a children's playground. It is a safe enviroment for children to enjoy themselves. We stayed at the Banyan with our 2 children (9yo/ 1yo) for 5 nigths. We found the hotel was clean and very tidy. The play area and pool were loved by the kids. The BBQ area was also cool as my family (staying at other hotels) could come have dinner with us. Having a kitchen was also a bonus as we were able to save money. The staff were very helpful! The Aston Banyan we will be back, hopefully soon! Thank you for an awesome holiday x

We stayed for 8 days and I loved it. The staff were so helpful. We booked our parasailing through the hotel so didn't have to run around. It has a small store downstairs which came in handy. The rooms were nice and the location was walking distance so everything, food, transportation, and shopping. I would only criticise the fact we had to pay to use the bbq and the fact the hot tub was so hot! Would recommend to families as its away from the noise on the main strip.
