Great value for money, close to everything, safe and secure.i had a pool view room which i am assuming was a lot quieter than street view rooms.Tina is the best, what a gal.She looked after me with helpful info and was flexible with an early checkout.I wanted to keep this place a secret.

Room Tip: choose a pool view room.

Stayed here from 18th May to 31st May. Lots of things to say about this little gem.
Firstly, Tina, so helpful from the original enquiry right to the check out. Our arrival time was after closing of the office, Tina sent through information regarding key collection - no problem. During our stay, Tina was kind enough to print out internet information regarding places to visit and bus details, connections and timetables. Our check out was very early hours so refund for deposit was returned to us the day before we left.
The location was great, few minutes from the beach and shopping centre. Local bus stops around the corner to many locations.
The accommodation itself is not new so if you are expecting 5 star luxury - go elsewhere! The rooms although a little tired looking were clean and comfortable and excellent value for money. The kitchenette area had enough in it to provide for a breakfast. Toaster, microwave and coffee maker. We had a room with a balcony which over looked the pool so fairly quiet.
An English lady who resides at the apartments was amazed that we had found it! A well kept secret even some of the locals did not know it existed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool so to avoid noise from the road.

The best was Tina, lady from office – very friendly and helpful.

Location – could not have better! It was so close to beach and shops. Pool was very relaxing and clean.

Rooms
Our room was clean and big enough for 3 of us. There were all equipments for making any food you would like. TV with great selection (you could easily find yourself watching the TV instead of sleeping).
If you can not sleep with some noise from street – please bring ear plugs. On the other hand we did not hear neighbors.

Parking
We parked in front of the Post Office, there was public parking, it was so close – across the road from Eggs and Things, just a bit left from Polynesian Plaza's back entrance. Parking was 5 USD from 5 pm till 7 am. As we droved a lot, normally we were out by 7, so it was cheap parking for us. For 24h the price was 15 USD, also not bad. In daytime there were also options up to 2h – 4 USD and 2-4h – 5 USD.

There are 7 day minimum stay - but it is in my opinion also minimum for Honolulu and Oahu anyway.

I hope I will be back!

I still have a hard time believing that this rate was real and the value was so good. I am still recieving praises from my travel companion for stumbling upon this jewel. Tina is amazing and made us feel right at home as soon as we got there. Location is great, we relied on the bus system and we were able to get around the island using the bus stops that were incredibly close to the Plaza. Hawaii is very affordable when you have a small kitchen to prepare meals in. We mainly ate out for dinner, but it was super easy to prepare breakfast and lunch there.

A couple recommendations: There aren't a lot of outlets to plug your hairdryers/phonechargers/etc in, so if you have room in your suitcase, you may want to consider a power strip/surge protector (lets face it, it's an older building and one hair dryer blew the fuse). Also, if you aren't planning on bringing a vehicle, don't plan a late night flight home. Since the office closes at 5, there isn't any luggage storage beyond that. So, if you don't have a trunk to put your suitcases in, you could run into a problem. Fortunately we had a friend on the island who was willing to stow our bags, but be sure to plan ahead if you aren't driving!

Room Tip: We were in a sun deck room, convenient, but I wished I had a balcony.

At $72 a night this would have to be the best value in Honolulu given that it is a 10 minute stroll to the beach and the main shopping district is right outside the front door. Sure the room is really only a motel room with a kitchenette and the bathroom was a little run down but it was clean, comfortable, well equipped and had a decent sized balcony. The pool and garden are lovely. The cost, the location and the friendliness of Tina, the staff and the other guests made it a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the western side are quieter but get the hot afternoon sun though there is a blind you can...

We just got back from our stay at the Polynesian Plaza right in the centre of the excitement in Honolulu. A block away from beach, right by the shopping district. Close to everything you would need. The value is excellent. A week or more booking required - $575 (tax in) for the week. Wow! They even have their own pool and toys (boogie boards, beach chairs, floaties) that you can borrow as long as you return them. Tina is fabulous, nice, helpful and professional. Felt very comfortable dealing with her. The kitchenette has the basics you would need. The building is a bit older, which is shown in the rooms, but it was still spacious and did the job. Unfortunately, no free wifi available - you must purchase online.

Room Tip: We had a kitchenette and private balcony not facing the street.
