I am a big fan of Roy's Restaurant and have also dined at Roy's Restaurant in La Jolla, San Diego which we thoroughly enjoyed. So it was with great expectations that we made a reservation to dine here and we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful meal here.
Bookings are becoming essential. Our first attempt we walked up to see if there was a table available that evening and we were told they were fully booked that night. We booked about 3 days ahead and there was no problem.
The meals were delicious, their house special cocktail - the pineapple martini was amazing and highly recommended; the ambiance was convivial and the service attentive.
Our party had a variety of dishes including the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi and it was delicious. My husband had the Tasting Menu with the matching wines, which is the perfect choice to taste a variety of Roy's starters. On the Tasting menu you then had a choice of one of three main courses rather than a sample of the three.
It was a memorable evening and one I would be happy to replicate at any time.
