For our final evening in Waikiki we chose Atlantis, a restaurant we walked past almost daily during our visit. A previous reviewer mentioned a limited menu, and I couldn't disagree more. There were many selections to choose from- various steaks and prime rib offerings, chicken and seafood, pasta. I ordered the scallops and risotto, and while the flavours were terrific the meal was more of an appetizer, IMO. I do agree that the veggies were a bit sparse. Others enjoyed their steaks and seafood pasta. Everyone left very satisfied. The various servers were excellent, attentive and timely. The fresh rolls were outstanding- taro, I believe. We were provided a complementary dessert for a birthday, and it was as satisfying as everything else. A busy place the evening we visited, we never felt like we were being ignored or overlooked. If you are looking for a floor show or entertaining wait staff, go elsewhere. If you're looking for exceptional food and service, give this restaurant a try.

“Great steaks but not much happening”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

Two couples, service good but lacks atmosphere compared to its neighbor (California kitchen). Vegetables = 1 carrot wrapped with bok choy and 1 bean, a bit stingy given we asked about the vegetables and understood this was 'plural vegetables'. Overall steak was magnificent but rest was bland. Need to work on it atmosphere to get repeat business

“RIP OFF!!!”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

First of all, they have a big bill board downstairs offering a special for a rib eye steak for $19.95 USD, but when you are seated after they bring you a bread roll that is not a fresh crusty roll, but tasted more like a sugary donut, you find out that the steak is actually only slices of steak, and the next best priced steak is $29.95 which is actually a thick slice of roast meat like you would get at a local club as a roast special. They rushed the entree, the minute we out our fork down the plate was removed and the main meal was put down, then as soon as you finish your meal the bill is put down. Then you find out that their version of TAX is much higher than everywhere else, the standard tax in USA is around 4.85%, the tax was 18% and then they automatically added an additional 18% gratuity, it was the worst meal we had in our whole 3.5 weeks in 4 different parts of the USA and it was the most expensive. The entree was also the size of a canape, it is cheaper to eat at the Sheraton and Dukes, it is also much nicer and more ambient. Dont get sucked in by the false advertising billboard downstairs, and ask to see the menu upstairs before you are seated, also ask them how miuch the tax is and if the gratuity is already added to the bill. I dont mind paying good money for a good meal and a good experience, but paying top dollar for a terrible meal as well as a " lie" of over inflated tax and an excessive TIP that was not worth it, is a joke. We happily tipped between 10 and 20% depending on the service we got in the states, but this was not worth 1%.

“Nice balcony and good fish”
Reviewed June 25, 2014 via mobile

Lovely balcony where you sit ouside overlooking the boulevard. The staff was quick and friendly. The food was quite nice. Not too much as is often the case. Good quality fish. We had the salmon and the macademia mahimahi. Both were cooked well and very nice.

“A Surprisedly Great Dining Experience!”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

We visit Hawaii at least once a year. We always stay on the main drag, right by the beautiful beaches, shopping, ABC Stores and fine restaurants in Honolulu. Several Hawaii locals have suggested that we would dined at the Atlantis Seafood & Steak Restaurant on Kalakaus Ave. Hey, why not? We were on vacation! On our first visit there, we were greeted with smiles and friendliness by both staff and management. We love seafood especially oysters and fish! After putting our order in with the staff members, they continued to be quite attentive until our food arrived. The seafood and everything else that we have ordered were prepared exactly as we ordered and tasted really great. Management came over and spoke to us making sure that everything was satisfactory. Hey, we were more than satisfactory with the food and great service. Yes, it was a little pricey, but we were vacationing in Hawaii. We needed to try out fine restaurants and be treated well by staff and management if they wanted us back there. We went back there one more time before heading back home in the mainland. We got the repeated great friendly greetings at the door and excellent food. At this restaurant, we got more than what we've paid for ... excellent service and fine food to our liking!
