“Not a Good Wyndham Experience...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

Front Desk Staff was very rude and not attentive.
This did not feel like a warm Wyndham experience at all.
Even though we were owners it didn't seem to matter.
The room was nice. The shower was poor and water barely came out, also the tub was slow to drain...

Room Tip: ask for one facing the street and high up

Five of us stayed in room 327 for one week at the Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk and it was the best week of vacation that we had as a family!

PROS
-LOVED having the kitchen for making breakfast
-in unit washer/dryer was indispensible after a day at the beach and running around the city
-Room 327 is a corner unit so we had a larger than usual living room
-DVD player was excellent for times when you wanted to watch a movie (movie rental available in the lobby)
-Pool table and ping pong table were a definite plus for our family
-Free WIFI and business center with computers and printer (helpful for printing our reservation confirmations)
-GREAT location
-one block away from Waikiki Beach
-one block away from the main street "Kalakaua Ave"
-two blocks away from the Waikiki Trolley depot
-great restaurants and ABC stores (convenience store) within walk-able distance
-Hotel had family activities like hula lessons available
-Customer service and staff was excellent and extremely helpful when we wanted to reserve a rental car

CONS (mostly minor issues)
-weak water pressure
-A/C unit was in the smaller bedroom right next to the bed and woke us up everytime it turned on, but it's preferable to not having an A/C unit
-might just be our unit, but the entire family thought that the toilets smelled unpleasant

Overall, I highly recommend Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk and would DEFINITELY stay there again!

Spent 7 days at this resort with my family. Had a great experience, no issues.
Located in the heart of Waikiki, walking distance to the beach and shopping.
Staff was friendly and helpful, we will be going back in April.

We rented this condo unit from a timeshare owner. Before we left for our vacation, the owner told us that we are entitled to a mini cleaning midweek during our stay. When we checked in, they offered us a welcome package which they were trying to sell us timeshare. When we decline to the timeshare seminar, the receptionist wasn't too please. We stayed in unit 1005. The design was poorly organized. The sofa in the living room was right next to the air conditioner vent. The lighting in the unit was quite dim that I felt as if I was in a funeral parlor. During the evening when we were back in the condo, we couldn't make use of the living room due to the fact that if you sat on the sofa, you get cold air blowing right beside you and the dim lighting. The master bedroom was quite cold and the second bedroom was quite warm due to the poor circulation of air. The patio was quite narrrow. It was just enough to put 2 chairs outside (no room for a patio table). The water coming out from the two showers wasn't very strong. When we asked Maintenance to check out the water flow from the shower head, he said all the units are like that, the water from the showers are on water saver. When we asked to have a mini cleaning, we were told we were not entitled to the mini cleaning since we are not the owner of the timeshare. Also they charge $35 per day for valet parking. When we checked nearby hotel rates for parking, they were less than $30 per day.

You can only call the views from most balconies "car park views" so the higher up you can get a room the better. First time we were on the 4th floor and then later on the 9th floor. The last was much quieter and you could use the balconies without having to listen to the roar of air conditioners next door !!
Well equipped in every way. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment - ideal for 2 couples.
A 5 minute walk to the beach but to get to the best swimming beach - Kuhio - was a 15 minute walk.
Being on Waikiki Beachwalk this place is in the heart of the action. We went to J.F.Changs a lot during their happy hour.(20 meters away)

Great location in the midst of what is happening in Waikiki. Easy access to shopping and restaurants. The staff was very helpful. We asked lots of questions, directions and advice. The hotel is very nice, great amenities. Even though we were near the elevator and it was a busy place on the streets with crowds of people, the room was quiet and we slept quite soundly. My only complaint would be the view from our window was a parking deck and it wasn't on the beach, but it was close to the beach. Overall, very nice place

Room Tip: Ask for a room on one of the top floors and on the front side or on the end that faces Don Ho Blvd.

My wife and I stayed here just last week and were not impressed. Our room was contained within the elevator areas and I joked that we constantly heard the sounds of the ocean even though we were 3 blocks away from it. The noise sounded like waves crashing or a thunderstorm that never ended. The walls were also so thin that you could hear everything in the rooms around you as well as the hallways. The dryer in our unit took 3 hours to dry anything. The floors were filthy and the kitchen floor was covered in sand when we checked in. The air conditioning units are set up incredibly weird, so that we had to lower the main room it cooled to 60 just so that some of the cold are made it into the bedroom to cool us down. The bathrooms had no air ventilation aside from opening the door. The pool area is directly next to a parking garage (constant noise from cars tires squeezing, horns honking and car alarms going off) in addition to an alley on the other side that has a ton of commercial traffic that is incredibly loud and spews exhaust fumes all over. As I said, my wife and I were not impressed. We new immediately after checking in that we would never stay in another Wyndham. The only positives I can say about our stay was that we had a king size bed and they brought us a crib for our son to sleep in.
