Best value on the island. The dynamite shrimp starter is fantastic. Salad was very good and dinner with 2 glasses of wine and one cocktail was only $97 with tip. We had the steamed opakapaka and lobster tail. Both were served with veggies and rice/potatoes. The fish was to rave about. Wished we had gone back once more, but we will go more than once next year.

Super steak and fries at 10pm, staff super friendly, bit crowded and noisy- but that lends to the fun. Take care in the dark to see it, and make the left turn into parking lot if coming from Waikiki area.

We stumbled upon Uncle Bo's when we went out for a walk one night. The outside of the building was like a pub. Nothing fancy at all. When we went inside and they asked if we had a reservation, we were shocked! We didn't have a reservation, but they did find a table for us in the back room. If you are looking for fancy, this is not the place for you. The chairs were mis-matched, and there was a folding chair at the table next to us. We weren't sure what to think. Our server came to our table promptly, and offered good suggestions on the meals there. We were warming up to the place at this point. We got some delicious bread, with our drinks. And then our entrees. Everything was absolutely delicious. And there was SO much food. The portions were huge. We had the Baked opah (a local fish), the Seafood Trap (which they called an appetizer, but we had it served as an entree) which was calamari, shrimp, clams, and fish in chili and garlic sauce - soooo good; and our daughter had the chicken alfredo from the Keiki menu. We also had the warm fudge brownie. We felt the prices were comparable to any other restaurant we visited, and the service and food was above par. The atmosphere was fun and lively, and there seemed to be a lot of locals here, which I think is always a good sign. We loved it here!!

Both times we went I ordered appetizers (pupu's) and my boyfriend did order the fish taco entree which was good but combined with crab cakes ended up being alot of food.
The portions are generous.
We had the sashimi and the seared ahi tuna, and tornado rolls...yummy! Crab cakes are good, very large.
Beer is cheap, drinks normal price.
Like supporting local and independent restaurants.

If you drive too fast on Kapahulu Ave, you might miss this spot. From the street, it resembles a "hole in the wall" but as soon as you walk in, that thought just goes away. It's a hip place to hang out and the vibe is energetic. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday night and it was already crowded. They had a great selection of "before-dinner-snacks" and drinks so we were satisfied with what we ordered. The crab cakes were delish! Service could have been a little better but overall it was a fun experience. Will definitely go there again for dinner.
Tip on parking: There's a little lot right next to the restaurant. Otherwise, there is a lot across the street or street parking.
