Owner description: One of the principal Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, our unique interactive museum is located near the Battleship Missouri in the battlefield hangers of historic Ford Island which were attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy on December 7, 1941, the beginning of WWII. Aircraft, such as a Japanese Zero and the Stearman in which former President George H.W. Bush soloed as the war's youngest aviator, illustrate how aviation helped stem the war. You'll view historic videos, including a movie of the beginning of the war. Enjoy the authentic gift shop, 1940s themed cafe Laniakea, and the combat flight simulators in which you can virtually fight the battle of Guadalcanal in either an American or Japanese plane.Pacific Aviation Museum's mission is to develop and maintain an internationally recognized aviation museum, which educates young and old alike, honors aviators and the support personnel who defended freedom in the Pacific Region, and is dedicated to preserving Pacific aviation history.

“Cool”

Free museum where you can see the planes and pay to watch a film. Very historical and great information some may not have ever known.

“One of my favorites”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

What this facility might lack in quantity it definitely makes up for in quality. Plus its location on Ford Island alone would make it a must-see for any historian interested in World War II. For a variety of reasons I haven't been back since '06, but it is on my wish list for the future.

“Cool if you are really into planes...”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Gained admission to this through the Passport to Pearl Harbor ticket. The cool about this museum is that it is located in an original WWII plane hangar. After that the information inside is really only interesting if you are really into planes (and yes, the air and space museum is my least favorite Smithsonian). They have George H.W. Bush's plane here and a copy of his flight log which is pretty cool. This was my least favorite of the 4 sites included in the passport, but still worth the hour or so that it takes to go through it.

“Best tour of Pearl Harbour, pay for a guide they are brilliant”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We were a group tour but wow the avaition museum was unbelievably good. Our guide was excellent, so informative and really made sense of the displays, explains what the planes did/do or involvement including design flaws and its so interesting. Its completes the Pearl Harbour experience and watch the movie before you go and you see heaps of land marks from the movie.

“Great visit”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

Did a day tour to the museum and it was very worth the visit. Great to be able to go inside a couple of the exhibits and see how things looked
We took a lot of photos as the aircrafts great to see
This is a must if you are into history and aviation
If you do,go on a tour, you are limited for time so an extra visit to the whole area to see all pearl harbour is probably the answer
Great places to visit
