“Wonderful hotel with friendly staff”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

I went with 5 girlfriends to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We had a wonderful time! The complementary breakfast and Happy hour is great. All the staff were extremely friendly and we were on a first name basis by the end of the trip. the happy hour band was Roland and his 3 sons, they were fun, friendly and really good. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite and it was nice and roomy. I will definetly be back!

Dear Pat D,
Happy birthday! I hope you and your girlfriends had a great and memorable time. Roland and his sons; our entertainers, really do a great job. I am glad you were able to get a two-bedroom suite that gave you and your friends plenty of space. We look forward to your return.
Sincerely,
Bob Y

Great location, clean rooms, high quality hot & continental breakfast. The staff was friendly and on-site expedia travel assistant helped us book our way into many events which otherwise were showing up us sold-out or not available on-line. Overall, very satisfied by the experience here, would definitely go back.

Dear Venkata B,
You are absolutely right, we are a great hotel for families that want to be close to the beach. Our free breakfast and cocktails are certainly value-added as part of our suite pricing. Thank you for your commitment to come back.

What a pleasant surprise! Knew about the cooked-to-order breakfast and the no-resort fee (unless it's already built in the per/night charge) but did not know about the proximity to the center of Waikiki. We stayed in Waikiki Parc a few years ago and found it to be the ideal location for more bang for your buck, but Embassy Suites takes the cake. The lobby is only a few steps away from dining, shopping, and Kalakaua Blvd. In fact, there's a short pathway that leads you to the middle of Waikiki Beach Walk. If beach fun is what you seek, simply cut through the Sheraton lobby and find a spot in front of the Royal Hawaiian (this part of the beach has less corals and smoother sand than the beach directly in front of the hotel). The arrival was easy and direct. Once you are dropped off, you simply mosey a few feet to a sit-down counter while they server guava/passion fruit beverage. The suite is not modern but efficient especially with a microwave and mini-fridge. There are LCD TV's in the bedroom and the living room. The lanai can be accessed from both living room and bedroom but it is a tight squeeze. We stayed in Ste 1109, directly across from the Trump Hotel, where the view was awesome. It is an end suite with the living room view overlooking the grand lanai pool and the pacific ocean. The bed is extremely comfortable, though can't say much for the pull out sofa bed. The grand lanai is directly above The Yard House, Ruth Chris, and an entertainment stage where various Hawaiian singers/hula dancers performed every night (we stayed during the weekend of Pan Pacific Festival). SO, if you do not like street noise, ask for a higher floor. We had breakfast every day (prior accommodations with free breakfasts would only be enjoyable after the first 2 or 3 days - not this place). The omelet chefs were extremely friendly and helpful. Although some days are greasier than others, just simply ask for less cheese on your omelet. Remember, do not leave your food unattended while you grab your morning coffee or juice. The pigeons and tiny birds will have a feast on what could be your best omelet creation. The Manager's reception is also fun with complimentary cocktails and live entertainment. Since it's a family friendly hotel, there are TONS of children in the pool which our 11-year old enjoyed, but there should be a separate Jacuzzi where the grown ups can enjoy it without feeling uncomfortable. The only complaint I have is the constant humming noise of the air condition unit from the Trump Hotel. Since we were directly in front of its infinity pool and hotel back side, we heard their air condition through the entire duration of our stay. Non-issue when we're not there but very noticeable when trying to get a good night's sleep after a long hard day of having fun. Bottom line, we would definitely book another stay at the Embassy Suites. That we were sure of after the first day!!! Thanks, Embassy and staff for a great start to our summer.

I stayed there on June 2nd - June 6th. Very expensive to park here offering only valet at $35 per night. BE CAREFUL with the valet attendant named LAPAKE! He was very rude and tried to physically intimidate me. I thought we were going to have to call the police on him! I talked with a manager about this and he said that he would talk to the valet supervisor. He didn't seem to concerned though. Who knows if he ever did anything. None of their staff from the manager on down seem very happy to work there. I have Hilton Honors Gold status and was placed on the 3rd floor by the elevators and Ice machine. The room was clean with a living area and bedroom. There was a fridge and sink right when you walk in the door. The breakfast was good, and the managers special in the evening was ok. The pool area was ok but crowded many times. For the money there are a lot of other better options and for sure you will find better service at just about anywhere else on Waikiki.

Dear Trent M,
Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay. I apologize for any inappropriate behaviors that you were exposed to. Yes; our valet parking is expensive, but I can assure you we are at market price as compared to the rest of Waikiki. I am glad you found your room clean, and were able to use the refrigerator and microwave that is placed in each room for your convenience. I hope you will give us another try.
Sincerely,
Bob Y

The hotel is clean, roomy, and convenient for shopping and beach going. Staff is friendly and eager to help. The hotel made available beach towels in the room, so we took a short walk to the Waikiki Beach. Breakfast is very good considering the high grocery price in Honolulu. Elevators are directly accessible from the street using room card to operate. We stayed on the top floor and the view was great facing Hilton Hawaiian Village. I would have preferred the Diamond Head view, but the Front Desk was kind enough to give us a room when we arrived at 11 am. This is a no-frill hotel and great for families

Stayed here for a week in June 2013. What sets this place apart is the free breakfast in a great setting next to the pool and the free cocktails (for 2hrs Mon, Wed and Fri) with a great local band to entertain you. We had a ball.
Rooms were large and tidy. Service was good.
My tip is book a high floor to avoid some minor street noise. Use the local buses ($2 return) for Ala Moana etc.

Room Tip: High floors for less street noise.
