They have a to-go queue which was great. Took the cheesecake out to the beach and watched the stars.

The Waikiki Cheesecake Factory in Waikiki, offers the same menu, same good service, and same scrumptious food as the rest of the chain. If you like the Cheesecake Factory offering, you will like this one on Kalakaua. The menu has exactly the same entrees, the service staff are very attentive and knowledgeable, and once you have your table, the food arrives promptly, unlike several other restaurants we visited during our stay. It is getting your table that is the challenge. Although you seem to always wait to get a table at any Cheesecake Factory, the line up for the Waikiki restaurant is crazy. One night you had to wait an hour and a half just to get a beeper, and then another two hours after that. Needless to say, we went elsewhere that night and returned on another evening when the wait was only 1 1/2 hours. The restaurant is right in the middle of Waikiki on the main drag, Kalakaua, so if you want to see all the action and people watch, ask for an outside table. You will be right on sidewalk level, however, so it can be a bit noisy with all the people passing by or congregating outside the restaurant waiting (and waiting, and waiting, and waiting) to be called to their table.

Before coming, everyone spoke of the Cheesecake Factory. Huge dining area and kitchen. Menu was too big with no real theme except for the Very typical American diner. But if you're after something for the family... Some good choices for younger ones like teenagers etc.

Having travelled a lot, we have come to expect certain things with large popular chain restaurants. Reliable menu but usually not spectacular, long waits, higher prices than the food should demand, slower service. At first, cheesecake looked to be all that. While there appeared to be a long line and piles of people waiting, we were told 20 minutes and got in within that time period. The menu had a large selection and the food was above average in taste, plate appearance and quantity than one would expect. It was busy but we never felt that in our quiet section. Our server was fairly prompt and returned a few times to check on us ( more than I would expect for how busy it was) We really enjoyed our meals and drinks. My son did not finish his meal so we asked it be boxed. Our waitress came back to let us know that when boxing it, she had accidentally dropped it so the kitchen gave him a new meal to go and our wait was not too bad for this inconvenience. The price was still up there but mostly because we ordered expensive drinks. The only suggestion I would have is to have table side card readers. It is somewhat obsolete to take customer credit cards away to process these days.

The restaurant is in central location in Waikiki so it is very convenient for tourists to stop by for lunch or dinner. No need to take a car to get here. The menu offers a lot of choices. I have already been to this chain in Las Vegas so I wasn't "amazed" by the menu or food but it was fine. My sister had the grilled salmon and mashed potatoes. This dish was ok, nothing special. I had the "bang-bang chicken and shrimp" which was nice and flavorful. If you like foods that are spicier than regular American foods you will probably like this dish. The menus are available on their website so you can have a look in advance if you want to know the selections and prices.

There is a kid menu and my daughter got a macaroni and cheese. This dish wasn't food. It was dry and tasted just like what you get from a frozen package at your grocery store. They didn't have coloring papers and pencils for kids (I am not complaining, just want to inform parents who might want to know about this). They provided a plate of cut-up banana and bread for the kids.

Service was good. The wait at the entrance was very organized. We had to wait only 10 minutes. They give you a device that you keep and wait for it to be buzzed so you don't have to stand around there.
I would recommend this restaurant and would be back if we are in the area and can't decide where to eat.
