“Manoa Waterfalls - Amazing way to explore the deeper natural sights of Hawaii.”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Fantastic tour with an amazing tour guide. We had decided to do something a little more challenging and were pleasantly surprised by our rain forest hike. It wasn't overly extreme physically but was a fun work out up to the beautiful waterfall itself. There are many great photo opportunities on the way up the mountain. Our tour guide was informative and funny and very knowledgeable of the forest. Keep in mind although a fun trek it can be dangerous if you do not follow your guides instructions, as there are deep canyons, cliffs and slippery slopes but if you pay attention it is a wonderful tour into the rain forest, do not be deterred by this comment, take the challenge it is very satisfying and rewarding to reach the top. Take the walking stick they provide for you if you are uncertain or unsteady this will assist you immensely.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed December 28, 2013 via mobile

Nice hike up to the bottom of the falls. About one mile each way. Footing is slippery but there are steps and treds to help out. You can hike to the top of the mountain. We did not do that. We were told it takes an additional 3 hours to get to the top. Beautiful flora.

“Beautiful waterfalls right in the city”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

Easy to get to. Parking does cost a few dollars though unless you park down the street. The hike does get a little muddy toward the end, so break appropriate footwear. I felt bad for the people that walked for about 45 minutes, then had to turn around. Also, if you have very small children this isn't the walk for you due to how muddy and slippery it is toward the end.
The walk is about an hour each way at a moderate pace. Besides the parking fee, there are no fees here.
Bring plenty of water, besides the gift shop near the parking, there is no other place to buy any.
May I also recommend I love yogurt down the road near University of Hawaii, Manoa. The Dole pineapple yogurt is amazing.

“Falls nice but attraction is overcrowded”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

Hike to the falls is up a very muddily incline. Takes 45 minutes give or take depending on your physical condition and the amount of people on the trail. The falls are nice but the experience was not enjoyable. There are hoards of people from organized tours, other tourists and well as locals. Do not know if there is a less crowded time to visit, we went on a tuesday morning. The experience is more like battling people to board a subway in Grand Central Station than a hike up a tropical rain forest trail.
