“Tropical walk in the jungle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013

This is a wet trail and one should wear appropriate shoes. They are redoing the trail. It is being upgraded. They are putting down a gravel path. The falls are beautiful.

“A good hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Loved hiking, but hiker be warned: the trail is VERY muddy and buggy. They were in the process of repairing the trail so there were several parts that were washed out. Be prepared to wash your sneakers.

“Great hike but steep and muddy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

This is a relatively short hike up and down but it is fairly steep. The hike is worth the effort but the top third are likely going to be muddy so be prepared. The falls is very pretty and the hike is extremely pleasant. It takes about 2 hours round trip including time at the falls. It is free but there is a fee to park in the lot nearby ($5).

“Unreal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

I wanted to come here just to see the falls but the hike was worth the trip by itself. It felt like I was walking through a movie set. The falls were amazing. Unfortunately it started raining as soon as we got to the top. Even if you think the weather is going to be fine (like I did) bring an umbrella or at least a plastic bag to keep your electronics dry, just to be safe. The trail became a river of mud on the way back after only raining for a few minutes. Worth the trip though!

“Beautiful waterfall,easy hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

We took the #5 Honolulu bus here which drops you at the end of a residential area just before the entry. The bus runs about once an hour! So time yourself accordingly. Entry was free for pedestrians, $5 for cars. Definitely, follow advise of others in wearing good athletic shoes with traction. Along the last part of this hike, it can get slippery if it just rained recently. Most of the trail has gravel, which makes it much easier. Many people had walking sticks or just find one in the way from bamboo branches. It does help where traction can be an issue. Beautiful scenery, take lots of photos. There is a nice snack shop with a decent assortment of refreshments at the entry too.
