Ward Centre is not as well known or as large as Ala Moana or Pearlridge, but their shops and resturaunts are a lot better!
They have a lot of specialty shops that feature unique items. In Ala Moana and Pearlridge you have the same shops that you can find at any large mall in the country.
I loved the Racing Store, Hawaiian Quilt Store, Chef's Store, and T-shirt stores. It's not crowded like the other shopping centers, and it's just 5 minutes from Waikiki. The atmosphere is great, no rushing around, and across the street is the Farmers Market Store which is huge and has all kinds of local foods that you can pack up and take to your hotel if you have a kitchenette.
Unfortunately we didn't have time to eat at Ward Centre, but they had a variety of resturaunts with an marina ocean view.
I do enjoy taking a walk through this 'mall' although there are a few drawbacks. There are about 6 or so buildings that are encorporated into the entire Ward centers, and they are fairly spread out. Walking from one to the other is a bit of a distance, especially when you might only be interested in one or two stores in each. One or two of the buildings are fairly expensive in terms of shops, and I found that there doesnt seem to be that many people around here - which can be interpreted as good or bad. I dont buy too much here ever although its lovely to walk through for browsing.
I really love this shopping center. It has lots of really nice shops, and my favorite would be Island Soaps and Candleworks. I like this shopping center because it's in a location where you can go to the Ala Moana Shopping Center after. (It's really close).
