My husband had the LaBelle Farms Foie Gras Sushi, Duo of Contemporary Sushi, Steamed Kurobuta Pork Belly, Crispy Coriander Dusted Duck Leg, and Marinated Hawaiian Kampachi “En Papillote” and I had the Sous Vide of Kona Cold Lobster Tail and the dinner sized serving of OPAKAPAKA. Wonderful wine, service, food. This is our go-to-place, always excellent.

For the price, this place is spectacular. While we were waiting for our appetizers, they brought out the most delicious wasabi dip. We easily went through two bowls of it.

We started with the miso butterfish. What a light delight. Our second appetizer was the signature foie gras sushi. It might be silly (others may say whimsical), but it is definitely delicious.

My wife’s entrée was the Hawaiian Kampachi. It had fantastically crispy skin and was oh so good with the sweet corn, fennel and I can’t exactly remember what else. All I have to say about it is YUM! I had the pan roasted opah. We were told it is a lean fish, but we had no idea because it was incredibly moist.

For dessert we had the red velvet cake with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was delicious by itself, but we didn’t feel like it was a precise match for the cake. I ordered the Hawaiian vanilla bean panna cotta and was extremely pleased with it. It had small flecks of crunchy vanilla bean that played nicely in the luxuriously smooth panna cotta. Oh, and it came with seriously mango sorbet and a delightful honey super-thin and crispy cookie.

The service was spot on.

All in all, it’s hard to imagine a better meal for the money in Hawaii.

Hiroshi Eurasian Tapas has the potential to be exceptional, but the overall experience was only average. The key problem was the room and the smell.

The space itself is somewhat cold, with large building columns intruding on the dining experience, and leading to a space that lacked warmth and/or comfort.

Worse yet, on the night we visited, there was a strange odor that permeated much of the restaurant - something like sewage. I can't imagine this is there on all occasions, but it was noticeable and disconcerting when we visited.

The menu itself is very interesting and creative, and the execution of the food quite masterful. There is huge potential here, and the restaurant and chef have been recognized and awarded. Our experience, however, was nothing more than average.

We went to this restaurant because our daughter gave us an anniversary present to eat here. We looked it up on line and found out that they have an early bird special, 50% off menu items when sitting at the bar from 5:30-6:30 pm. The food was all awesome the people were friendly and helpful. The special did not include drinks, but this experience was totally enjoyable.

If you love good, high quality food, then you must go to Hiroshi's.....love the tofu salad....and the foie gras sushi...OMG it just melts in your mouth!....the pork belley is absolutely delicious...love the veal cheek...and the opakapaka...and the panna cotta....from appetizer to dessert, everything was delicious!
Hiroshi's food is fresh, delicious and so beautifully presented. I think the prices are reasonable, especially when you consider how well done it all is!
Enjoy Hiroshi's!!
