“Impressive fare”

We came to Hula Grill for happy hour in the bar. We were extremely impressed with the food and service. My husband at a Kalbi beef and watermelon salad ( which is not on for happy hour ) but he adored it and it is still inexpensive under $10. We also shared the pork dumplings which were fantastic. My husband even ate the garnish as it was very good. I had the burger which was excellent. Not at all like the one I had at Turtle Bay earlier in the week. It was also less than half the cost and it was great!

Highly recommend this place and our server was really good.

“Loved the Kalua Pork Omelet!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

This place was pretty great! The food and service were fast both times we went. We first went in the evening for happy hour drinks, which were strong and tasty. The music was enjoyable, but loud, so it was hard to talk and we didn't stay long.

Breakfast for the morning special was fantastic! As mentioned, they were fast, so they didn't take up much of our activity time. The Kalua pork omelet was delicious and quite possibly the best Kalua pork I've ever had in Hawaii. Hubby got the breakfast fried rice with yummy Portuguese sausage, bacon, green onions, and an egg to top it. They proved me a liar though when I told hubby that rice was much more common than potatoes because my omelet came with breakfast potatoes! They were perfectly seasoned with tons of peppers and onions. The specials came with coffee too, which was good.

The view can't be beat. Hula Grill is above Duke's in the Outrigger. I would highly recommend the foods we ate!

“Fantastic Food! But make sure you sit outside!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Had dinner here and the food was excellent and the service was great. The only problem-it was HOTTER THAN HELL in the restaurant, unless you sat outside. We had drinks at the bar while we waited the 30 minutes for our table, and the whole time the sweat was dripping down my back. Absolutely NO AIR MOVEMENT in this place at all. When we were shown our table we were inside and close to a ceiling fan which provided no cooling at all. There is outdoor seating here and I absolutely would make reservations in advance and make sure you are outside unless you have no problem sweating profusely while eating your dinner.

I would have rated this 5 stars if not for this very major drawback.

“Beautiful views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Stopped here for lunch while walking around Whaler's Mall. Beautiful views for about 180 degrees. Food was good. Service was great! Had to save room for their famous dessert.
We were on a 15 day Princess Cruise to the Hawaiian islands. This was our last port stop before heading home.
Would definitely go again. (on the cruise or to Maui.) Beautiful island.

“So very nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

We arrived early for our reservation and the ladies at the front desk found a table right away. Overlooking the pool and the ocean. Our waiter, Kevin, arrived and asked about cocktails and our stay in Hawaii. He reviewed the menu with us and helped Us select our meal and the wine we would have. Robert had the seafood chowder. OMG! Delicious blend of coconut milk and tamarind in the broth with a very large selection of fresh fish and seafood. We had a delightful evening with a talented staff that blend an easygoing style with superior service. We also want to shout out to Lyssa on her birthday. We had a grand time you guys!
