Waikiki Resort Hotel

Certificate of Excellence

I booked this hotel on a gamble thru West Jet Vacations. The billed it as a 3* and much to my supprise thats exactly what it turned out to be. Its best feature is that it is literally 75 yards from the front door until your feet are on the sand of Waikiki Beach. Its a 1/2 block off the beach front street, behind another larger hotel so some of the higher up rooms might have a beach view. Ours on the 6th floor didnt.

This is Korean Airlines base hotel so the service is exceptional. Everything was neat as a pin. The hotel was recently renovated and I couldnt find a blemish anywhere. The beds were comfy, the linnens good and housekeeping adequate.

This is the only hotel that I have been in that wasnt a 4 or 5 star that had beach towels for guests right in the lobby.

There were plenty of places near by to eat from Mc Donalds right next door to Grilled steak, mexican food and 3-4 asian places all with in the same block.

For those of you familiar with Waikiki this hotel is on the far east end of the main part of Waikiki about 4 blocks west of the Zoo. The beach area by the hotel is protected by a lava rock jetty so its very calm and warm in the water. Shallow too. I had no problem letting my 10 yr old run around here. The only complaint I had with the hotel is that the pool is NOT heated. This is the norm for Waikiki hotels, but you know what guys that is NO Excuse!! Guests in the 21 century EXPECT the pool to be heated. The pool was useless and ICEcold. Speaking of which the only ice macine in the hotel is on the 2nd floor by the pool. Could use one on every floor.

The hotel had coin operated laundry in the basement parkade which came in handy as well.

This was one of the few "Budget" hotels that I have stayed in at Waikiki that actually had a full tub. Everything in the room was modern, we had a small 2' cube fridge that was ice cold and came in handy for snacks. This hotel is 4 blocks from the Food Pantry the only full grocery store in Waikiki.

There was a business center and free Wifi in the lobby. Internet ws $10/day if you wanted it in your room. There was no gym, but there was a full 24 hr fitness place across the street that guests got a discount at. Parking was a steep $18/day for guests and there wernt tons of spots. The room also had a free large safe that could old a 15" laptop.

I would stay here again in a heart beat and for the price it was a steal.

Location and price unbeatable. Concierge was most helpful and housekeeping staff were great. Only one short block to the heart of Waikiki and the Beach. Could not have been happier with the location and the price. Would advise anyone to stay here with no concern at all.

We got an outstanding deal on our room and thought maybe we would be given less than stellar accommodations. This was not the case. We were given a wonderful room on the 17th floor with a city view. The lanai was great to sit and have our morning coffee. The staff was awesome and always ready with a smile and plenty of aloha. The location was perfect - close to the beach, the zoo, and restaurants. We will be returning and recommending this hotels to others. A big hello to Nancy and Gary!

Drug my wife with me to Honolulu for a too short "business/leisure" stay. Work turned out to be debilitating, but General Manager Glen Vergara and his staff, with their incredible personalized and "we care" additude, made us feel unbelievably at home and welcome. The accomodations were spacious, clean and extremely comfortable; the staff throughout the hotel was friendly, helpful and efficient. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend at the Hotel. Mahalo, Glen and staff - you made for us the absolute best of an otherwise trying business trip!

We arrived at 11pm. Drove from Honolulu airport. My family and I were allocated room 315.

It was small, very old (smell, decor, paintwork). THe room had smoke essence; the bathroom very smokey smell. The balcony contained remains of construction debris - concrete, cement powder, large ropes and tarps draped around balcony. It was dusty - the renovations were taking place on and around our balcony.

We were horrified - nothing like the hotel advertised, or the reviews stated. This was a travellers nightmare. We were informed by the front desk that they were fully booked and that it was late and we would not find any where else to stay. My husband stated that he wanted a refund as they could not offer another room.

The front desk gave us the managers number and said we would have to take it up with him. We left the hotel and found great accommodation at the Waikiki Pearl resort which we had stayed in days earlier prior to going to Maui.

For my wife and I , this was our third time staying at the Waikiki Resort.
We consider this to be our home away from home.
From our first visit the staff have been great. We have found them to be very friendly, and helpful when asking for directions or suggesting some of the different sights to see.
The location is excellent, only a block from the beach who could ask for a better spot.
Some people have written that it is too noisey but what do they expect, you are a block from the beach and it is a very busy area. We have been able to sleep with the windows open and have never had a problem with sleeping.
all in all we would recomend this hotel to anybody. We are planning to return to the Waikiki resort next year, and we will have great service and a great time just like we have had the first three time we stayed there.

This hotel is 1 block from the beach; abc stores shopping and all else within steps.
The accomodating staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcomed; the spirit of Aloha.
IT is a 3 star; hotwired for 67 night ; it is a hub hotel for Korean airlines and have a korean restaurant in the hotel. No problems ;no headaches...just pure R&R
