That was a relly good hotel, very close to the beach, close to the restaurants and pubs.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Bathroom was nice and clean. The rooms looks modern and nice. Roomservice was good. Staff was helpful.
Internet connection sometimes was working on the 7th floor (it was sait that it is running in patio only). The safe and little fridge was in the room.
I really recommend this hotel.

This was our second stay at this hotel. We came back because of the enjoyable and comfortable stay we had on our last visit.
The hotel is clean, comfortable and centrally located in Waikiki. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and always keen to help in anyway they can to make your stay more enjoyable. The previous time we asked if we could have a room on the quieter side of the hotel and without hesitation they accommodated our request.
The hotel is good value and while not 5 star is more than adequate for a stay in an above average and friendly environment at this price level. We will be back again.

Room Tip: If you're wanting a view some rooms on the higher floors do overlook the ocean.

Mahalo for choosing to stay with us again on your return to Hawaii. Your comments are greatly appreciated. Yes, we are not a 5 star property, and our rates reflect that, however based on our ideal location, clean facilities, friendly staff, and affordable rates, we like to believe our product and service rendering represent one of the best values in Waikiki. Again mahalo.

Great location. One block off the main drag and beach. Can walk to everything. Parking available. Staff very nice and helpful. Hotel very clean. Room decor a little tired looking. Over all worth the price.

Thank you for commenting on your recent stay at Waikiki Resort Hotel. Certainly location remain our biggest attribute. Glad you found value in that as well as our staff's helpfulness and cleanliness of our facilities. After 5 years since our guest rooms were renovated, we can appreciate your comments on our room decor and in fact have already initiated steps to address that beginning with a lobby upgrade in the next 2 weeks, and an overhaul of our bed and terry furnishings in our guest rooms in November. Please visit again should you return to beautiful Hawaii. Again mahalo (thank you).

If you want a basic hotel near the beach then this is fine but with some maintenance and better pillows this place would be much better. Pillows are an essential component if a good night's sleep and our stay last week at the Hilton Back Bay Boston just recently replaced all theirs with great pillows. Here at the Waikiki Resort they still use el cheapo spong pillows.

The patio door to he balcony needs new runners. This would be a low cost improvement but I guess management does not care.

Staff are very good and helpful and the room is clean.

An ice machine on each floor would be a good improvement.

Overall this is an OK place to stay but management should get on top of things (I used my travel screwdriver to secure a loose electrical wall socket - another example of a lack of systems to check rooms).

First of all thank you for staying with us. We certainly appreciated your candid feedback in reference to our pillows and the flawed sliding door. We apologize for any discomfort and inconvenience. Contrary to your thoughts, we want everyone to know that we do care. And in fact will be upgrading our bed linen, including pillows, as well as our terry linen (as of November 1st). Among other things (lobby upgrade this month), mattress upgrades are in the works. As for the minor guest room shortcomings that you alluded to, we will be taking steps over the next few months to identify and address them. Once again, MAHALO, and hopefully you give us another opportunity should your future plans bring you back to beautiful Hawaii.

Stayed here on an overnight before boarding NCL's Pride of America. We arrived at 3pm, and our room was ready. the hotel was centrally located, and while not on the beach, it was a short 1/4 mile walk to beachfront Khameamea Park, which was wonderful and busy.

PROS -
Registration super easy, and hotel staff was friendly and knowlegeable about local eateries.
Room was clean
Location-easy 1 block walk to beach.
Free Wi-Fi in lobby
Service good at ILIMA buffet.

CONS:
Decor is tired and run down.
Rooms are tiny,
Mattresses in beds are AWFUL-soft and lumpy! Thank goodness we had to sleep on them for only one night!
Linens are cheap and scratchy.
A/C wasn't super effective, and a bit noisy.

Overall, not horrible, but for $189 plus taxes and fees per night, we expected more.

We certainly appreciated your feedback. While "average" may seem okay to some, we want you to know that it is not okay as far as we are concerned and hope to be making positive strides over the near term as we look to upgrade our mattresses, bed furnishings and terry linen. As of November 1, we will be outsourcing our laundry which, with upgraded, pressed linen, will go a long way in improving our guests' experience. While we're pleased to announce that our lobby will undergo a decor facelift within the next 2-3 weeks, we want everyone to rest assured that all efforts will be made to minimize any guest inconvenience assuming your plans bring you to our hotel over the next few weeks. Thank you again for allowing us to serve you and certainly hope you choose to visit us once again should you return to beautiful Hawaii.
