I was nagging my other half that I wanted to go to this place before we left Oahu to see the sunset and have some cocktails, We JUST made it in time for our last night in Oahu to see the sunset. The staff were accommodating especially as we were non hotel guests. The cocktails were lovely and the crisps they give with the drinks was so so addictive. The atomsphere is relaxed and the setting to see the sunset was just stunning. A must do.

“Hula, Sunset, and Mai Tais”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

This is Hawaii at it's best! It isn't inexpensive but the atmosphere is awesome. The view from Diamond Head to the sunset, Kanoe Miller (a previous Miss HI) hula, and THE best Mai Tais on island. Oh and Maui Chips! Our server took really good care of us and we wanted for nothing on a perfect Hawaii night.

“Disappointing experience”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

Very disappointed with the trip advisor review of the "house without the key." The establishment Does not deserve $$$ . The fish kebab Was raw and lacked any form taste. Salad dressing was too sour. Service was subpar however the bread basket was edible.

“Nice Breakfast Buffet But at a Price”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

This was our second visit to HWK.
Our first visit five years ago was a disaster.
We stopped by for a sunset cocktail and some pupus. The service was terrible and the food
mediocre. The trio of middle-age mainlanders were doing a terrible rendition of Hawaiian standards. This was irritating because there are so many good Hawaiian singers.
Fast forward to Sunday buffet.
We were greeted, and seated in a great location.
Our server was attentive. The buffet had lots of fresh fruits, baked goodies, lox, sliced turkey and ham.
The omelet station was set up to include shrimp and salmon, as well as cheeses,
and the usual onions, mushrooms, and green peppers.
There was miso with the extras, a salad bar, yogurt, waffles with coconut sauce, and even prunes and lychee.
The server regularly checked java and fruit juice levels.
This is a very nice breakfast, but at $32 per person, it does not come close to the value of Duke's Canoe Club for $15.95.

“Can't beat this sunset”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

Stopped in to listen to the band and enjoy a few drinks and some food while getting a view of the sunset. Both the drinks and Pupus were excellent, topped off by a fantastic sunset view that we got lots of pictures of.
