The 12th Ave Grill is about 2 miles away physically, but light years away culturally, from Waikiki. You'll find it to be a nice neighborhood restaurant which is justifiably popular and noisy. We shared an appetizer of beer battered fried avocado which I thought was bland and needed some sauce to perk it up. However, the 14oz prime rib steak served with roasted radicchio and a mushroom/madera sauce was a huge success. I asked for extra bread so I could sop up all the extra goodness from the plate. Modest prices for bottles of wine

Honestly, you are not going to save money by coming here. The prices are within a couple of bucks of what you will find on the Waikiki beach. If you add in the cost of a taxi, it may be cheaper just to pick a nice restaurant near your hotel.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and we couldn't have had a better dining experience. I had the lavender scented Hawaiian Kampachi which was sensational. My husband had the grilled pork chop which was very delicious too. The service was exceptional - our server was Tara and she was a complete delight - professional and knowledgeable. They have a bartender there that makes signature cocktails with the precision of a surgeon. The cocktails are unique and beautiful. For our celebration they treated us to a Smoked Manoa Chocolate Flan - oh my! We are not big dessert people, but we wanted to lick the plate it was so scrumptious.

We have since been back several times and experienced the same level of attention to the food and service. They also have a happy hour Mon-Thurs 5:30 - 6:30 (I think) where they offer small plates for around $5-$10.
We enjoy this restaurant a great deal.

We had not visited the new location and did not know what to expect. Restaurant was crowded, but we had a table where we could talk without shouting. Service was excellent and the dishes were served promptly and well-displayed. Liked that most of the food was locally grown and/or raised. Parking in the area is still difficult. Their flour-less chocolate dessert was the best!

We visited December 30, 2013. Sevice was OK, nothing special. We noticed they prompted people at a neighboring table to leave as they were lingering over coffee. The food was very delicious- we both had fish. The decor was nice but the the place was really loud - there was a lively scene at the bar where people were also eating, and the acoustics in the room made it seem louder.
We were wondering about the neighborhood - we were taking the bus from Waikiki and had no problems, but it seemed a little deserted.

Excellent new place, larger, spacious without losing the intimate setting as the old location. Service did not diminish as you may think moving to a larger venue. Happy hour is the same and the food is always 5 star. The Chefs and line staff are professional and calm during our service. More seats at the bar so you don't have to get there at opening time but it did get crowded on a Monday....
