“Best Place on the Island”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

This place is one of the best anywhere....not just the Island. Its a little difficult to find but once you do.....WOW. I take everyone here when Im on the Island...always....
Great atmosphere, nothing fancy at all, plastic chairs and so on. This was on the show No Reservations. It truly is one of the best places to eat anywhere. The staff is more than frirndly and the food is supereb.....but still nothing fancy. You REALLY need to go here when in town.

“this is not a dive!”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

was recommended to try this by my brother-in-law and thoroughly enjoyed the experience : pleasant service by charming waitresses : very much appreciated being told that we had ordered more than enough! also lovely not to be rushed and to have happy fellow diners just glad to be sharing in the pleasure of the comfort food - now with some nice touches (hope that they do not go too far in the garnishing!)

“Still a great place”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

We have been going here for over 10 years when we are in Honolulu. Still a great place off the beaten path. The Chinese chicken salad and, of course, the pork chops, are world class.

“Outstanding food at reasonable prices near Waikiki”
Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

This place deserves all the accolades from so many people. They don't go after truly gourmet dining but what they do provide you is with unbelievable comfort food prepared in unique and flavor able ways. We came by at 4:30 on a Saturday to beat the crowds and this turned out to be a wise move as by the time we left, there were crowds waiting for tables. We had their signature dishes -- the island pork chop, garlic chicken, and a shared fried rice. Portions are Hugh so even the pricier dishes come with lots of food. Fried rice was greatly prepared with lots of mouth-watering BBQ pork. The garlic chicken had lots of garlic in a sweet but light sauce. The pork chop had to have 3 chops, all chopped into bite size pieces with a crusty exterior and succulent interior. We were stuffed and had to take a lot home but had the peanut butler crunch for dessert and it had a perfect blend of peanut butter crispness and chocolates interior with a heavy topping of ice cream and whipped cream. This one is a winner.
