“High End Local Bar”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

I've been here a few times for their delicious, but pricey food. My all time favorite pupu are the expensive pork chops, fried rice, and fried noodles. On our last visit the quality of the food was very good with the exception of the Big Island smoke pork which consisted of tiny slivers of the meat..it looked like a plate of shredded cabbage topped wth tiny pieces of raw bacon. Next time I have a graving for ono pupu it's Home bar n grill on Kalakaua for me.

“Food is good. Parking is terrible.”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Food is good. Always lots of people there. But parking is terrible. Need to park at Ala Moana usually. People get in arguments over parking spots.

“Local Grindz YUM!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

This has been my favorite place to get the best variety of local foods from the fried rice to the fried pork chops and all of the salads are delicious, not to mention the ever changing various specials. If I were a visitor I could eat there every day just to be able to try everything on the menu, this is always a must when we have visitors from out of town. Definitely save room for dessert we had a great chocolate peanut butter brownie, like a Reeses candy only better. Casual atmosphere in a bar setting, or if you want a little fancier decor you can go to the sister restaurant on Kapahulu Ave. This place gets real busy so arrive early for dinner or be prepared to wait for a table.

“Hard To Find But Worth It”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We went to a late lunch at the Hopaka Street location and got an unexpected bonus. After 1:30, the plate lunches were discounted and we had enough chicken katsu for 4 people. It was very good and we'll definitely go back during our next Honolulu vacation. It appeared to be very popular with locals, our kind of place.

“Local food!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We like to find the small out of the way local eateries. And we found it here. We heard about it from a coffee shop manager and she gave us walking directions to it. It was so good and we talked with some local people and enjoyed ourselves so much!!!!
