This place is popular with the locals who appreciate casual dining with food that is honest, delicious, and pays homage to the fresh fruit and bounty of Hawaii nei. You can eat inside or out, but nobody comes for the atmosphere. You come for the food.

You will enjoy omelettes, benedicts, bagels, French toast, Belgian waffles and lunch items like seafood and pasta, soup, salads and more. My favorites are the veggie delight sandwich and the portabella sandwich. My husband can’t get enough of the avocado & seared chicken salad with their homemade honey dijon dressing and the homemade scones (when he can get them – they only make a limited amount each day). They are famous for their fresh fruit acai bowl and their fruit smoothies.

Bogart’s Café is half a mile walk from the Honolulu Zoo at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki. Or you can make the 2 minute drive, but be prepared for limited parking. But don’t worry, nobody stays long so if you are patient, something always opens up.

They are open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. seven days a week.

Everything is fresh, and everything is made to order. But stop at a cash machine before going, because they don’t take credit cards.

Fantastic breakfast place. We went three times in one week. Go early and avoid the crowds as it is tiny. Best thing we had was the Acai bowl. Acai smoothie frozen at the bottom of the bowl topped with granola, strawberries, bananas, blueberries and honey. The breakfast quesadilla was fantastic as well. Bagel with pesto cream cheese was great as well. We ran here from Waikiki, not that far away.

We went to this place twice on the recommendation of our dental hygienist. She lived on Honolulu for several years. I had the BBQ chicken salad one day and the acai bowl a few days later. The food is fresh and delicious. My spouse had a crab asparagus omelet and thought it was very tasty. There is a younger crowd there and it can be hard to find a seat. People were pretty good about leaving though to make room for the new eaters. Go there if you can!

Now let me start in decor this place is a mom and pop kinda place but thats what gives it such charm. The staff you can tell really love it here cause they are full of amiles ( and I visited on two separate occasions im two seperate months) the acai bowl is the must the granola is so good and the fruits are so fresh. And for you carnivorous eaters they make a mean omelette as well. Overall in the waikili area this is a spot to hit.

This place was booming - absolutely packed - thought for sure we were on a winner!!

The best bet is to order what everyone else seems to be eating - and that is the Acai bowls. They look fresh and delicious. Unfortunately we were craving a hot breakfast and this one didn't really cut the mustard. We ordered the eggs benedict and corned beef hash - fail.

The first thing that really disappointed us though was the coffee. We like a good one - you know, rich, creamy, smooth etc etc...

Okay - it seemed to be hard to find good coffee in Honolulu - but this one made us laugh. Really laugh, even before we tasted it. There was no micro foam here...just full on super soap suds...NOT exaggerating - it had big foamy bubbles..and just like that whatever we had ordered for breakfast took a backseat...

We took a look around the strip of shops and found another cafe a few doors down (after we had eaten). We watched the girls prepare a few dishes - they looked fresh and yummy. We couldn't help but wonder why this place wasn't as busy and we wished we had eaten here.

Maybe Bogart's coffee machine had broken down, maybe they didn't get enough time to prepare fresh food that day...who knows - but be sure to check out the other joint before you order (The Diamond Head Health Bar I think) - especially if you can't get a seat - we wish we had.
